Anderson Cooper Rescues Boy in Haiti (YouTube VIDEO)

Anderson Cooper rescues boy in Haiti.  Anderson Cooper, popular CNN journalist, was caught on tape rescuing a boy that was being stoned and beaten by looters.  In the wake of the 7.0 earthquake that shook the city of Port-au-Prince it comes as no surprise that violent outburst occur over a week after the devastation.

People are suffering, hungry, and have lost everything.  Haiti is also a nation where violence occurs even under the best circumstances.

The Haitian boy rescued by Anderson Cooper was struck with a large piece of concrete when looters tried to grab stolen items from a store.  Anderson Cooper grabbed the young boy, and swept him away to a safe place and handed him over to a local.

Currently, Anderson Cooper doesn’t know the whearabouts of the boy that he rescued.  He hopes that he is doing well, but the fact still remains that the boy is in a very dangerous place.

The death toll in Haiti is about 70,000 with as many as 100,000 feared dead. Relief efforts are underway and there was even a star studded concert last night that benefited the Haitian relief efforts.  If you missed the concert, CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS ABOUT DOWNLOADING THE PERFORMANCE ON ITUNES.

Meghan McCain NOH8 Cindy McCain and Daughter Support Gay Marriage

Meghan McCain NOH8:  Meghan McCain and Cindy McCain support “NOH8″ which is a protest of proposition 8.  Proposition 8 is legislation making its way through California that seeks to ban gay marriage.  Cindy McCain showed up on an Ad with duct tape across her mouth and “NOH8″ written on her cheek.  She is said to have contacted NOH8 and offered to pose for the endorsement photo.

Meghan McCain shows up on Twitter in a similar photo to that of her mother. Meghan states that “I couldn’t be more proud of my mother for posing for the NOH8 campaign. I think more Republicans need to start taking a stand for equality.”

Meghan has asked to be the keynote speaker at National Equality Week at George Washington University. Her appearance will likely draw criticism from Republicans.

NOH8 is probably shocked that Cindy and Meghan McCain publicly back their campaign.  After all, gay marriage is strongly opposed by many Republicans, and the McCains are among the most well-known conservatives around.

John McCain is up for re-election during the 2010 mid-term elections.  Sarah Palin, his US Presidential campaign running mate will campaign for him.  Unlike Meghan and Cindy, Sarah is a strong and vocal opponent of gay marriage.

John McCain doesn’t support gay marriage, but respects the views of his family members.

The Day Obamacare Died A Brown Victory Video Parody

The Day Obamacare died is a video that is gaining popularity in the wake of the election of Scott Brown.  The Day Obamacare died is sung to the popular tune “American Pie”, which features the lyrics “The Day the Music Died.”  The reasoning behind the video is that Brown is against healthcare reform, and his election makes it that much more difficult for Democrats to push healthcare reform through Congress.

Prior to Scott Brown’s election, the Democrats filled enough seats to avoid a filibuster.  Now, they risk a filibuster should the healthcare bill go to vote.  This doesn’t mean that healthcare reform isn’t possible – it just means that it is that much harder.

While it’s not sure that Obamacare is really dead, the election puts out a very big message.  Democrats that are up for re-election in the 2010 midterms are likely re-thinking their direction and trying to figure out ways to keep their constituents happy.

Below is the “The Day Obamacare died” video. What do you think?

Scott Brown wins Massachusetts Senate Race Democrats Beat By Republicans

Scott Brown wins Massachusetts Senate Race.  Republican Scott Brown is the first Republican since the 1970’s to win Massachusetts Senate seat.  Many people are indicating that the Brown-Coakley Senate race is indicative of how the 2010 mid term elections that will take place in November will be.

According to the Associated Press, Scott Brown is the projected winner. 71 to 73% of the votes are in and the vote remains 46% Coakley 53%  Brown

Many Americans voted for change in 2008. Granted, they got change – but not the change they desired.  Many feel as if they are being force-fed a healthcare reform bill that could cost them thousands of dollars. What started out as a good thing for America has turned in to somewhat of a catalyst for a political upheaval.

Scott Brown will join the ranks of other dynamic Republicans.  Seemingly out of nowhere, the Kennedys and the Clintons have been replaced by the Palins and Browns.

My how the tables have turned.

That being said, healthcare reform could still pass even with Brown in office.  However, the Senate will lose its filibuster proof majority.

Also notable about the Massachusetts Senate Race is the fact that President Obama campaigned for the Democratic candidate without avail.  This makes four times in his first year of office that he has put his credibility on the line and has lost the race.  This is a strong change from his very dynamic and inspiring campaign.

Massachusetts Senate Race Update Brown And Coakley Race Tightens

Massachusetts Senate Race update Brown and Coakley’s Senate race is tightening.  Bill O’Reilly from Fox News reports that 29% of the votes are in and Brown leads Coakley 53% to 47%.   Martha Coakley is the Democratic candidate and if she loses Massachusetts, a historically Democratic state the implications will shake politicians up for re-election in 2010.

**BREAKING UPDATE CLICK TO FIND OUT THE MASSACHUSETTS SENATE RACE WINNER**

The House and the Senate are trying to push healthcare reform through the legal system.  At this time, as it stands the Democrats can push legislation through without risking a filibuster.  With Brown in the Senate this will change.

MORE HOT UPDATES FOR THE SENATE RACE HERE.

Americans are outraged about the changes in the healthcare reform that are going through.  There are so many laws that don’t make sense to many Americans and if Coakley loses, it’s likely because Americans fear health care reform.

Scott Brown is still leading Coakley even though he posed semi-nude for Cosmopolitan in the 1980′s.  Imagine if a woman candidate would have done that.

So what do you think? Are you excited about Brown’s Republican lead over Coakley, or do you believe that the Senate seat belongs to Martha Coakley?

Massachusetts Senate Race Update A Close Race

Massachusetts Senate Race update: A close race exists between Democrat Martha Coakley and Republican Scott Brown in a very important Senate race for the seat held by the late Ted Kennedy.  The Massachusetts Senate seat has historically been predominately Democratic, but things may be about to change.

**BREAKING UPDATE CLICK TO FIND OUT WHO WON THE MASSACHUSETTS SENATE RACE**

Polls currently favor Scott Brown, although the offical vote count has not been completed.  Massachusetts is such a small and sophisticated state that it isn’t expected to be long before the final tally is in.

So why is the state favoring a Republican candidate this time around? For one thing, health care reform is on the forefront of many people’s minds and there are so many people that are outraged at what is going on at Capital Hill.

With 9% of the votes counted, Brown has 52% to Coakley’s 47% – meaning the race is quite tight.

Martha Coakley would favor the healthcare bill that is currently making its way through Congress, where electing Scott Brown could stop the reform dead in its tracks, as Democrats in the Senate won’t have the seats needed to simply push legislation through.

The Massachusetts Senate Race is a great portrait of what is going on throughout the country – those that love the reform versus those that want nothing more than to Kill the Bill.

Michelle Obama Birthday and a Surprise from Barack Obama

Michelle Obama’s birthday and a surprise from Barack Obama:  Today is Michele Obama’s 46th birthday and her husband, President Barack Obama, had a big surprise for her. He threw a surprise birthday party at Restaurant Nora in Washington.

Restaurant Nora is known for organically grown foods.  Recently, Michelle Obama was featured on a popular food reality TV show, where contestants had to make dishes made from vegetables picked at the White House garden.

Only, the vegetables used in the show were really “props” and weren’t the actual produce from the garden. Producers blamed the switch on a production delay, but many fans were highly disappointed.

Michelle Obama was also featured on Sesame Street. During her visit, she spoke about growing gardens and eating vegetables.

Looks like Barack Obama’s birthday surprise for Michelle Obama was spot-on. He will be in Massachussetts campaigning on Michelle Obama’s birthday (today) so he made sure he did something really special last night.

Also attending Michelle Obama’s birthday party were her mother and friends, including Attorney General Eric Holder, White House Adviser Valerie Jarrett and Jocelyn Frye.

Last year, Michelle Obama’s birthday co-incided with the inaugeration of the President.

Happy Birthday Michelle Obama. We hope your birthday is everything you dreamed of.

8 Year Old Mikey Hicks Gets a Third Degree

Does this news shock you? Now when you further find out that the 8 year old is a blond, white, and blue eyed kid who also happens to be a boy scout, does the level of aggravation further increase?

Meet Mikey Hicks an 8-year-old from New Jersey who is a member of Cub Scout and a frequent flier. Because he shares his name with another Michael Hicks, this 8 years old gets the same treatment that most suspected terrorists get, a full third degree before he can board the plane.

The checks started when Mickey was all of two years old. Imagine a baby getting frisked and patted thoroughly but then I don’t blame TSA or security agencies. The crazies in middle east would agree to use babies to hide their explosives without missing a heart beat. Same goes for pregnant women or a cripple using a wheel chair to hide the stash.

Right now the internet is abuzz with this news and people are pretending to be shocked that TSA is flubbing by thoroughly checking an 8 year old who also happens to be a “boy scout”. I bet this “boy scout” tag was deliberately dug up to show the contrast. The more extreme the contrast the more shocked people get and more the news fly.

In my humble opinion, TSA is definitely not guilty of frisking an 8 year old but is guilty for not maintaining more columns in their database where they could store additional information about the suspects.

You could have more than one person by that name so how do you distinguish? Thats the strategy at which TSA or DHS seems to have had a shortcoming. But better safe than sorry.

Harry Reid Racist Comments Are Creating a Controversy in Washington

Harry Reid racist? Comments made by Senator Harry Reid during the 2008 elections are being construed as racist by many, and some are even calling for Senator Reid’s resignation because of these comments.

Harry Reid racist comments include calling President Barack Obama “light skinned” with “no negro dialect” – except, of course  when he wants it. President Obama has spoken with Senator Reid about the comments and says that he knows what is in Harry Reid’s heart and considers the book “closed.”

Is there a double standard? Harry Reid is a democrat, and one cannot help but wonder what the reaction would be if a republican had said the same comments that Reid did.

Harry Reid racist comments were made when he was stating that Obama was electable. This is when he offered the “light skinned” and “no negro dialect” explanations.

According to ABC News, George Will agrees with Reid, stating “I don’t think there’s a scintilla of racism in what Harry Reid said.  At long last, Harry Reid has said something that no one can disagree with, and he gets in trouble for it.”

Conservative Liz Chenez says ““One of the things that makes the American people frustrated is when they see time and time again liberals excusing racism from other liberals.  And I think that, you know, clearly, Senator Reid’s comments were outrageous.”

What do you think about Senator Harry Reid’s comments? Do you think that Harry Reid is a racist?
