Kelly Osborne and dance partner Louis van Amstel

The judges chose their favorite dance from last night and it was Kelly Osborne and Louis van Amstel, and they performed the dance again.  Everyone was surprised last night when Kelly took to the dance floor, she had quick steps and yet, seemed light on her feet.

They ran a short clip tonight with all of the people voted off in the first week from each season of Dancing with the Stars, and it was pretty funny.  They called themselves the Losers Club, and said they were holding a spot in the Losers Club for the first two people voted off tonight.

They paid tribute tonight to Patrick Swayze, and performed some of his dances and popular songs from some of his movies.  The last dance in this tribute was the famous last dance scene from Dirty Dancing with all of the Dancing with the Stars dancers.

Ashley Hamilton and partner Edyta Sliwinska were voted off first from the men’s group, with the lowest votes for Monday night.

Macy Gray and Jonathan Roberts were voted off from the woman’s group, with the lowest votes for Tuesday night.

All episodes are available to watch on the ABC website

Last night was ladies’ night on Dancing with the Stars, following the men’s night on Monday.

Debi Mazar, best known most recently for her Entourage tough-talking character, opened the night with a less-than-commanding salsa, earning just 22 points for whole night.

Melissa Joan Hart, an actress best known her role on TV’s Sabrina, The Teenage Witch, performed the Viennese waltz with Mark Ballas, but she was a little stiff and awkward, and received a total of 24 points.

Mya, singer and Dmitri Chaplin got a standing ovation, for their Viennese waltz. Carrie Ann Inaba shouted, “Way to set the bar tonight!” But judge, Len Goodman said that the performance was “a theatrical hodge-podge.”  Bruno Tonioli retorted, “that was artistry in motion!  The girl was magnificent! This is where the show takes off!”  The couple received a total of 31 points.

Kathy Ireland and Tony Dovolani’s salsa was judged “far too careful” by Len.  Bruno told the former swimsuit model and mother of three she didn’t sell the dance. “Sex, sex, sex” is what the salsa is about, he said. 20 points was their total for the night.

Natalie Coughlin, Olympic swimmer and Alec Mazo made a splash with their salsa.  Carrie Ann called her “a diamond in the rough,” but an agitated Len scolded the pair, saying the salsa lacked “sexy and steamy elements”. The duo received a score of 27.

Macy Gray was a little stiff and has a difficult time bending for her Viennese waltz.  Carrie Ann said she didn’t like her technique, but liked her charm.  Len said if he were watching at home she’d get his vote.  She and partner Jonathan Roberts received a 19 for the evening, and she dropped the F bomb (on live TV) in the back room before receiving her scores.

Joanna Krupa, a model did a sexy salsa, which the judges loved and it earned her and partner Derek Hough a total of 34 points for the evening.

Kelly Osbourne danced a very elegant Viennese waltz and looked like a perfect lady, much to everyone’s surprise.  It was impossible for her parents, Ozzie and Sharon, not to cry while watching her glide across the dance floor.  The performance was the season’s first moment to remember, and was appropriately rewarded with a score of 31 from the judges.

The women squared off in two groups of four for the dance relay at the end.  Kathy, Joanna, Debi and Natalie hit the floor for the fox trot.  Kelly, Macy, Melissa and Mya performed the second relay, a cha cha. Mya and Kelly received first and second place, and Melissa’s performance earned her third place, leaving Macy in fourth.

On Wednesday nights show two contestants will be eliminated, one male and one female, on the live results show, which airs on ABC.

Dancing with the Stars Results Mens

Osmond Dancing with the Stars Results MensDancing with the Stars Season 9 premiered last night and it is bigger than ever (literally).  With 16 contestants, the producers the first week’s competition into two parts: the men and the women.  Last night the men performed.

Taking the lead after Monday’s competition were Aaron Carter and Karina Smirnoff.  Aaron Carter is the little brother of Backstreet Boy Nick, and had a lot of unbridled energy.  The couple ended up in first place with an overall score of 32.

Donny Osmond and partner Kim Johnson were next up.  The Utah native seemed very relaxed with his fox trot and quite the performer, and the audience seemed to love him. The couple ended up in second place with an overall score of 30.

Actor Mark Dacascos also showed great promise, he is the dramatic chairman on “Iron Chef America,” and has 11 years of martial arts training under his belt, which makes him more than fit to compete in this competition. His partner Lacey Schwimmer moved effortlessly on the floor.  Total score for the night was 29.

Louie Vito, the champion snowboarder who is in training for the 2010 Olympics is a lesser-known star this season.  He looks very young, especially next to his dance partner, Chelsie Hightower. Louie showed a fair amount of grace and good form. Total score of 27.

Chuck Liddell is also versed in martial arts, he is well known as a former ultimate fighting champion.  He made a good effort and showed his frustration as he attempted to glide with partner Anna Trebunskaya across the floor.  Total score for the couple 22.

Tom DeLay and Cheryl Burke were the next couple.  The former House majority leader had to get in touch with his inner Wild Thing.  Cheryl had the unenviable task of whipping this conservative Republican into dancing shape, despite an innate inability of his hips to go left.  Total score of 20.

NFL hall of famer Michael Irvin did not have the judges’ favor. And while partner Anna Demidova (who won last season) worked hard to help him, he still looked a little stiff and unmanagable.  Total score of 19.

Ashley Hamilton was happy to be there he said, son of George Hamilton and just trying to follow in his father’s footsteps.  Partner Edyta Sliwinska wore an outfit that was very complementary and both looked dapper.  Ashley also looked very stiff. Total score of 19 and tied for last place.

Tuesday night will be ladies’ on Dancing with the Stars, and Wednesday night will be the results show.
