Every site should carry this in my opinion. There are generally no rules or standards of internet browsing, posting, commenting. The below mentioned points should help making decisions even when there is ambiguity.

I have been always impressed by the quality and originality of the posts on your blog. Sadly I can not say the same for this post
By the way I just made a post about google summer of code here.
I think you should consider blogging about it as we should try to get as many students aware about this as possible. No need to link to me.
