A runaway Prius was spotted in San Diego yesterday, and the California Highway patrol had to help the driver of the car stop their vehicle. The Japanese automaker Toyota has been having severe difficulties in recent months with various recalls. Now, they have another accelerating problem – the so-called runaway Prius.
The driver of the vehicle was traumatized by the whole event, and claims he won’t ever “occupy” the driver’s seat again – although it’s not certain if he means the driver’s seat of that vehicle or driving altogether.
The 2010 Prius wasn’t part of the Toyota floormat recall. Only year models 2004-2009 were involved in that particular recall, and other Prius models were recalled because of a braking “software glitch.”
Why is the media so enthralled with the story of the runaway Prius? Well, for starters the vehicle just happens to be from one automaker that is in a world of hot wate right now. Having a runaway Prius is like the smoking gun of the matter.
