Stars Show Support for Haiti at 2010 Golden Globes

The stars celebrated at the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday night, but they also took the time to show their support for the victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti.

Special ribbons adorned the evening gowns and tuxedos of celebrities, in place as a remembrance of the tragedy in Haiti.

“It does feel strange to dress up and play fantasy, but I’m glad we are talking about it,” said Kyra Sedgwick to CNN on the red carpet.

Her husband, actor Kevin Bacon, used his red carpet interview with CNN to encourage fans to make donations, CNN reported.

Host Ricky Gervais had said lightheartedly at the beginning of the NBC telecast that “someone much more important than me” would address the Haiti tragedy.  Actresses Nicole Kidman and Maggie Gyllenhaal were among several celebrities on hand to encourage viewers to make a donation at

“I just want to say on a serious note a lot of people are wearing ribbons tonight in support of the people of Haiti, and you can go to to make your personal contribution,” said Kidman.

Actress Olivia Wilde said that her Golden Globe dress and several others would be auctioned off with 100 percent of the money going to a local program in Haiti.  Wilde has reportedly been involved with the support of an orphanage and three schools in Haiti.

Several references were made throughout the evening to actor George Clooney, of the heavily nominated film “Up in the Air,” who is busy organizing a telethon, “Hope for Haiti,” set to air on Friday.  For more on the telethon, click here.

The Golden Globes were held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA.  Stay with for more about the winners as they are announced.

    1. Provost Dr. Tom Burish stated in the release that “While Notre Dame would have preferred to maintain its independence, the financial realities of the world of college football made the decision a necessity.” He also said that “The longstanding tradition of the schools in the Big 10 conference best fit that of the Irish program”, according to reports.

A lot of marketing men and women i know research for #tags linked towards the niche and then hope that within 3 days they will follow them and if not, un-follow them. This will help grow your network of twitter followers, if you use this technique, you can want a separate personal twitter account.

    3. Thankfully We have these. Did I mention I hate WC? All I remember is getting lost in there like a lowbie horde repeatedly. It’s not bad since they fixed the maps, but before that… sheeesh lol

    5. Thanks for your posting on this website. From my very own experience, often times softening way up a photograph may well provide the wedding photographer with a chunk of an artistic flare. Sometimes however, this soft blur isn’t what exactly you had under consideration and can often times spoil a normally good image, especially if you thinking about enlarging this.

I blog a lot with LOTS of text so I think wordpress would be a really superior choice for me. Appropriate now I am using weebly on fatcow and it sucks because fatcow (or weebly) gauges you when you do not use weebly on the weebly web page itself. You pay 3.99 a month for pro features on weebly’s web site. You pay 9.95 for just a month to the premium’ features on fatcow then another 2.95 a month for shopping cart functionality which is free on the weebly internet site to begin with. Plus, the fatcow weebly builder lacks a lot of features weebly’s actual web page has. You pay $13/mo on fatcow’s weebly and get considerably less features than paying $4/mo on weebly’s actual web site.
