Pacquiao vs Mayweather is a controversial fight, and after two days of negotiations Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Jr never reached agreements. The March 13th fight doesn’t look like it is going to take place. Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather, Jr’s mega fight was supposed to be one of the best fights ever.
Manny Pacquiao is pound-for-pound the best fighter in the league, a distinction that Floyd Mayweather Jr held up until he went in to retirement. While Pacquiao has been defeated, Mayweather remains undefeated. Pacquiao’s fans wanted their Filipino fighter to be one that would put that dent in Mayweather’s career.
Then, Mayweather and his fans wanted to show Manny Pacquiao that Mayweather is still pound-for-pound the best fighter in the league.
There aren’t many opponents that are perfect for each other – but I guess even Manny and Floyd aren’t perfect for each other either.
According to Two Minute News, “Top Rank’s spokesman, Lee Samuels, read a statement after the closed-door meeting: “We cannot discuss details. Manny is moving on. It doesn’t appear Mayweather wants to fight Pacquiao.â€
There’s still no confirmation or denial that there will or will not be a fight. I guess we will have to still wait and see, although it doesn’t look promising.
I don’t understand why not! The fight could have earned each fighter some $40 million each.
Hey – Pacquiao vs Mayweather will still take place in the court system. After Mayweather posted statements on his Web site that were construed as defamatory by Pacquiao, the Filipino lawyer-ed up and filed suit in a federal court in Las Vegas. He’s seeking over $75,000 in damages from his would-be opponent as well as Floyd Mayweather Sr and Roger Mayweather.
