Wife Swap Photo Heene Family
The family of the missing Falcon Heene, the 6-year-old boy who was thought to be in a weather balloon earlier today, appeared on the reality TV show Wife Swap one year ago. The Heene family was described in that show as adventurous and as a family living on the edge. The family often sleeps in their clothes so that they can get up and go when weather strikes. Richard Heene, the father is a storm chaser and has reported stories as an iReporter on CNN. He is excitable and appears to love adventure. In that same wife swap episode, the kids are described as having no table manners and throw themselves around the house.
Ironically, the family was matched with the Martel family who is a “safety first” type of family. The father of the Martel family runs a child proofing business that identifies dangers and risks to children, and attempts to keep them safe. I’m guessing the father of the Martel family is saying I told you so today.

UPDATE: 4:15 PM MST: CNN just reported that Falcon Heene has been found alive and well. He was hiding in the attic in a box and thought he was in trouble.

Looks like this might have been a hoax set up by the parents. The little boy slipped during an interview with Wolf Blitzer and said that he was hiding because the parents told him to.
I watched this live today on some of the 24 hr. news networks. Everyone first thought that he had actually flown away with the balloon; thankfully, it looks like he just set it off and then got scared about being in trouble for it.
Even more bizarre, in one of the interviews with the family, the kid said something about how it was all done for some “show”. I will be following this story in the next couple days.
