A Thumbs Up To Mediterranean Diet

mayo clinic pyramid A Thumbs Up To Mediterranean Diet

Another diet fad but this time the research is backed by Mayo clinic. If I were you, I’d pay attention. According to the doctors there, this diet might actually help you stave off the oncoming heart attack.

If you wanna eat right, and healthy then Mediterranean diet might be right for you.

According to the report -

The Mediterranean diet incorporates the basics of healthy eating — plus a splash of flavorful olive oil and perhaps a glass of red wine — among other components characterizing the traditional cooking style of countries bordering the Mediterranean Sea.

Also, they have listed some bullet points which make the information pretty clear and concise on this.

Key components of the Mediterranean diet include:

* Eating a generous amount of fruits and vegetables
* Consuming healthy fats such as olive oil and canola oil
* Eating small portions of nuts
* Drinking red wine, in moderation, for some
* Consuming very little red meat
* Eating fish on a regular basis

Most of it is pretty basic and you don’t need a rocket science degree to arrive at this plan. We all know how bad the red meat is for the body and that white meat like fish makes you smarter. Couple that with moderate intake of wine and you have a winner at hand
