A huge turnout is expected at King of Pop Michael Jackson’s memorial and his fans are eagerly waiting to know where the funeral is going to be held.
I heard TMZ speculating that the memorial might be held at Staples center and it does make sense. The massive funeral for Michael Jackson is set for Tuesday and the LAPD has revealed details about it.
Fans will have to register online at the Staples center website. About 17,500 tickets will be available to the general public for the Michael Jackson funeral show.
Also from a random pool of his registered fans online, about 11,000 people will be selected.

We will all miss Michael Jackson a lot. He was very talented. We respect him a lot. This whole thing with funeral tickets is IMMORAL. Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Barry White and nobody else had their fans requiring a ticket to go to their funeral so why does the people who is in charge of Michael’s funeral? A funeral is a time to mourn, pay your respects and celebrate their life, not just another show to see. What a wierd moment we’ll see in the history books to come. What message are we sending to our kids? A funeral is no longer a time to mourn, pay your respects and celebrate the decease’s life, but a show. I may be an old fashioned 29 year old, but this funeral ticket thing is STUDID, IMMORAL, and shows DISRESPECT for Michael Jackson, his family, friends, and fans.
It is NOT being disrespectful. It is NECESSARY. They are not charging for these tickets, they are FREE. If they don’t do this they are going to have a stampede of 3/4 of a million people trying to push thier way in.
It only makes sense to make it an organized event, therefore being respectful to Michael and his family in this difficult time.
What is disrespectful is forgetting this is a tragedy with children and family suffering, and fans only thinking of themselves and whether or not they’ll get a ticket, so they chastise the organization.

Common Sense is spot on. There are only 17,000 tickets available and over 500 million people have registered for them. Without this being organized would create mayhem and not allow people to gather to mourn the loss of Michael, celebrate his legacy and life, and pay their respects. This is not a “show” it is a memorial service. Having utter chaos during such a time is what would be disrespectful and immoral.
I agree with Billy. The whole ticket thing makes me sad. We don’t care about a show. What we really care about is to show respect and support for Michael and to say good buy. In a way, the same LAPD is trying to suppress the public emotions. With all the humiliation MJ went through with false accusation, it is more necessary to show how much he is LOVED. Immoral? How is saying goodbye, and celebrating a life immoral? It is absolutely necessary to organize this memorial in this manner. Safety is a major concern. I have a child and would never let a man get away with hurting my child for money. Michael wanted to heal the world because what it has become. Be happy that we can actually see his funeral and that the “tickets” as they are labelled are for CROWD CONTROL, seriously it’s not rocket science. They aren’t tickets they are passes to allow people in peacfully and without suffocating and killing other people because of the crowds that would occur. The man was and is the king of pop and no one would be able to pay their respects with such huge crowds. I personally was hoping for a public viewing that last say 5 days or something. They were going to do it at Neverland Ranch and then changed their minds. With all the things Michael Jackson went through in recent years, it is justified to show outpouring love and respect in a more natural way. I feel there is still undercurrent of suppression on the city and LAPD part. Tickets and show are not natural. procession with his remains and people lining the street or public viewing are natural. It’s obvious lack of one person that REALLY knows Michael in control here.

I love the fact that the LAPD are going CRAZY trying to prepare for this. I think he loved art so much so that he used his own body as a canvas, its apparent in many ways. Michael is not one dimensional, which is hard for most to understand, Michael is multi dimensional and his creation was an incredible piece of art to me. It’s a picture that will last forever and will always have people talking about it. His canvas changed Dance, lyrics and appearance, absolutely amazing! There should be a piece of artwork called “Transformation” which is Michael’s picture, he is incredibly beautiful!
Michael Jackson is “THE WORLDS GREATEST ENTERTAINER OF ALL TIME” and that is what we have all witnessed and have all come to love. So, forget talking about money, forget talking about court cases and forget talking about things other than his unbelievable talent, stay focused on what people are trying to convey and the reality that the world will never experience this type of talent again, this is undeniably the TRUTH!
