Billy Mays Funeral

bmays 273x300 Billy Mays FuneralThis seems to be the season of deaths. It seems that a pall of death has descended on the celebrity scene. I have never heard of so many celebrity deaths in one go.

The stars are definitely aligned in a certain way that we are witnessing this sudden gloom and doom in the celebdom.

Just few minutes back, I heard that the obnoxious and over the top loud salesman Billy Mays is dead.

Billy used to star in these home products with a sales pitch that used to grab your attention by both the shoulders and it seems to shake you up.

Billy Mays was found unresponsive and unconscious by his wife in the morning. She called up 911 but from the preliminary reports that I have heard, they were unable to revive him.

Billy Mays had an illustrious career as America’s love-him or hate-him Salesman. Billy was living in Tampa, Florida when the disaster struck.

Billy Mays Funeral

The family has not decided on the funeral proceedings yet and no date has been finalized yet. I am keeping tabs on it and as soon as the funeral dates are scheduled, I will make them available here.

Were you his fan? Did you like him or found the way he gave the sales pitch fascinating? If yes, let it be known to the family and friends below. If you have any condolence messages, the family would appreciate if you leave some kind words as well.

Billy Mays really was the guy who made infomercials come on the scene. He’s a pioneer in that respect, and I’ll miss his exuberant pitching. I hope that Discovery Channel chooses to finish showing this season of Pitchmen without edits – that’s probably what he would have wanted.

  5. billy mays was my idol, i stayed up all night watch pitchmen and i would make everyone shut up everytime his commercials came on. i think billy mays is the most amazing celebrity in this entire world. when i found out he died, i sadly cried :(

This hurts. My condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues. He was a terrific salesman, and a hero to myself, I invent things, and it would have been great to have had the chance to work with Billy in outsourcing a gizmo or two. Our prayers and best wishes are with the family and those closest to him, and everyone he touched. R.I.P.

This is truly a sad day as I just found out about Billy. We went to high school together and lived about a stone’s throw away during our teenage years.

To the Mays family, you have our deepest and sincere sympathies at this time of sorrow for you.

I will respect your privacy by not naming you. This is the Wright Family’s oldest son.

    God Bless You!!!

As a Billy Mays fan, I am shocked and saddened to learn of his unexpected passing. My wife and I used to joke that you couldn’t get through a weekend without hearing that familar phrase: “Hi, Billy Mays here …” I was also a big fan of Pitchmen on Discovery channel; although I do have to say that I wasn’t to crazy about the way Anthony Sullivan would constantly criticize Billy’s work. You just never know if you’ll be here tomorrow. RIP, Billy and my soncerest condolences to Billy’s family.

I was so shocked to hear about this. I really enjoyed Billy’s commercials, he really had a way of talking to the people and getting them to buy his products. He was loud but he had a way with words and his commercials had a way of getting you to stop what your doing just to listen to him talk. My heart goes out to you and my prayers. god bless you

  30. loren way says:

Billy will be missed. I have known him for many years. Typically we would run into each other at tradeshows and we’d always catch up on personal and professional stuff. Always a gentleman and always considerate of others, as I said he will be missed. I just saw Billy with his wife and kids in San Diego a few weeks ago and they all looked so wonderful and happy. What a shame this is.

So so sorry to hear of Billy’s death. His commercials we’re loud, in-your-face and even sometimes obnoxious… but the boy could sell!! He was good because his passion was real and he obviously loved what he was doing. I enjoyed watching him on Pitchman, I hope they air the rest of the series and it would be nice to see them do something special as a tribute. I can’t imagine the grief of Sully & the production team, Discovery Ch and especially his immediate family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all. I can’t believe how sad I am about this. Even a couple of days later, I am sitting here with tears coming out just thinking about Billy being gone. I guess it brings back memories of when my father passed away almost 20 years ago. Billy seems like the father I (or someone like me) never had. To all the people who are negative towards those who have passed away, you all should be ashamed. It doesn’t matter who the person was, the families should and deserve the respect and love that they deserve at this time of need and for privacy. My heart goes out to everyone who has lost a loved one. May they all rest in peace and know that God is watching over them and has made each and everyone of them guardian angels to watch over and protect their loved ones that have been left behind on this earth. May you always hold your loved ones close to your heart for there is only one life that we have and don’t ever take it for granted. LIVE,LOVE,and LAUGH every day to the fullest as if it is your last day on this earth. You may never get another chance. Youmay get the chance to say goodbye either. I hope that what I’m saying to all that this is a reminder to let the people that you are close to that are still here on this earth to hug them and tell them how much you love them for there may never be another chance to do so. May those who have passed on famous and not famous rest in peace and may God carry you onto the next journey.
