An Infosys employee in US involved in a dowry related bodily injury case. Please register your protest in the Comments column for legal prosecution of the Infosys employee.
Infosys is a top ranked Indian outsourcing and off-shoring company.
New Delhi: Twenty-three-year-old Samlin Jenita lies in Chennai’s Mehta hospital battling for life. Twenty-eight weeks pregnant, seriously bruised and nursing a severe brain injury, Jenita is a victim of dowry harassment.
She was flown to Chennai from the US on Sunday night in a special air ambulance after her family got a frantic call informing them of her accident and urging them to take her back.
Jenita was allegedly beaten up by her husband Christy Daniels - an Infosys employee in the US - who reportedly threw her out of a moving car.
She was rescued by Sardar Inamullah, a Pakistan-origin pathologist and was sent home.
“Jenita was brought into our hospital on July 31 and she was severely injured. She sustained 80 per cent burs and there seemed to be no chances of survival,” Inamullhah told CNN-IBN.
However, Daniels denies this, saying Jenita was injured in a car accident in which he and his sister and parents were hurt as well. He claims that he had provided her contact numbers and address in India to the hospital as well.
But Samlin’s parents say they got to know only when they got a call from Inamullhah who got suspicious while treating her.
Inamullah is a pathologist at the Lake Forest Hospital in Illinois and was the first to suspect something was wrong when a badly-hurt Jenita was rushed into the hospital by a police patrol van. She was brought to the hospital in a state of coma, with multiple bone fractures.
“Initially, I started helping the family but I realised there was something wrong. There was no information, no insurance papers, nothing. Then I heard her husband had left her and abandoned in the hospital. The state of North Carolina wanted to take her custody,” said Inamullhah.
He says none of Jenita’s relatives came to see her while she was battling for life. “Her husband came for first few weeks but none of her relatives came. Then he disappeared too. That’s when I and some of my Indian friends – including Mr Sebastian – got her custody,” he said.
Inamullhah says Jenita also narrated her version of the story. “She told us there was a fight inside the car and they were trying to push her out. That’s when her husband – who was at the wheel – lost control.”
As of now, both Jenita and her child are in a stable condition in Chennai’s Mehta Hospital. But Jenita has been paralysed on the left side due to the brain injuries.
Her parents are now filing a police case against Jenita’s in-laws.
As for Inamullhah, he says his duty and priority to save the girl, irrespective of the nationality. “There was no question of our nationality or culture coming into play. I have a number of Indian friends and I love them all like my family,” he said.

Anybody who has lived in the US knows that an accident cannot be faked on route 177, where the accident took place. All NRIs know that if she sued her husband for extortion, blackmailing, and attempted homicide, she would get million there. But she didn’t because if it were proved that her allegations are false, she would have to pay millions. In India, wives get no punishment even when they are proven wrong. In India, outright true and false cases are dragged for 10 years. In the US investigation is immediately carried out and punishment meted out.
So the girl came to India and filed a false dowry case. In such cases, the husband gets ready to pay 25 lakhs (almost a standard) and save his parents (even if they have never lived with the wife) from going to jail. Arrests are made without any investigation as the matter is cognizable (legal term).
NRIs are the most vulnerable to false dowry cases. fraudmarriage.ca and 498a.org are created by NRIs. In fact, 498a. org is run by IITians. Whole of the country is facing false dowry cases, including many IITians, IIMites, CAs, businessmen, IT professionals.
Google anti-dowry law.

This is an outright false case.
Easy logic:
If the woman sued the husband for extortion, blackmailing and homicide, she would have gotten millions. But if her allegations were proved false, she would have to pay millions. US courts investigate and dispense justice.
Indian courts neither investigate nor dispense justice soon. They drag it for 10 years. In India, wives are not asked to pay even when they are proved false.
So she chose to file the case in India.
NRI Husband’s rate of out-of-court settlement (who is going to fight for 10 years) in a false dowry case is about 25 lakhs (a standard now). Non-NRI husband’s rate is about 5 lakhs (middle class).
[edit]
It is a practice in India to
1. File a dowry case when the marriage is near collapse.
2. File a dowry death case when the wife has died unnautural death.
And extort.

We listen to our readers and continually take feedback from them. The picture has been changed from an Infosys executive to a women emancipation painting by Carmen, a mexican immigrant in US.
We hope our readers will continue to give us positive feedback.

we should not comment before we know the complete story (from both ends). The biggest mistake is boy should have informed the girl’s parents instead of it is communicated by a doctor.

This is a total lie since even to the media they have submitted a letter stating that Danius has a regular contact with Justin Raj (Smalin elder brother ) .Above all we friends are the one who even contacted him to enquire about his daughter’s status before 18th sep.ie the day Sardar played a foul game against Danius. Why don’t you approach the Wake forest baptist university hospital Patient realtionship dept. to know the real fact rather enquiring a particular staff who has no authority nor rights to know these information.
Smalin medical record dated from 18th Sep to 21st sep shows the clear picture on Sardar Inamullah ,about his cheating case for nearly 10000$# from Danius bank a/c.
Sebastian himself stated that he knew through email too before 12th Sep.Then what’s the reality & they are after for what?
On the day of the accident it was my friend who called from USA to Danius Uncle Louis Pillai & to sebastain cell number to inform about the accident .Later Sebastain came to Danius house in Kattur & used Danius Vonage phone device in India to enquire about his daughter to Danius.
Beware of these kind of thieves
November 26th, 2007 at 5:22 pm
Currently Danius is still in winston salem & the Patient Realtionship director Amada Smith knows that for sure .How can a Pathology dept. staff turns into a doctor?
If he knew the truth in the middle of Oct. why he didn’t informed to the Police.ie 911?
Why ?
since false allegation can place a person behind bars & Sardar doesn’t want to taste that in USA.But he knows Indians are fools who can easily be tackled with the help of cheap media.

Hi
I’m not supporting anyone here. But the media is twisting the story and adding its own ideas. Here is the news in newspaper.http://www.journalnow.com/servlet/Satellite?pagename=WSJ/MGArticle/WSJ_BasicArticle&c=MGArticle&cid=1173353588656
Those who drive their cars in US knows that noone want to play pushing games when you drive in Interstate. The speed limit is 65mph and in some states its 70mph.If it is because of Rs.5 lakh dowry(Its the Husband’s 2 month salary)why they paid $1500 ticket to brought her to USA?When an accident happens in the US,youcan’t leave your car onthe road and go home. You should inform the police and they’ll get your copy of license and car insurance.Otherwise you can’t get compensation for your car.According tothe news they flew her to the hoapital.I never heard about taking the seriously injured patient in a police patrol car. Here everyone follows procdures. After accident he can’t abandon her because the police has all his information. He was there till september. The only point that is not clear is why he went to India? And I checked the hospital’s website. There is no doctor in that name.H may be working there. But he is not a doctor.

We know everything from the media and the father. The truth will come out only when the girl comes out and talk to the public (through TV/Press conference)about what exactly happened. But everyone shoul consider the girl’s future. We know it’s hard for a girl to raise a baby alone. In the beginning of a marriage misunderstandings happen.and if it involves a mother-in-law and sister-in-law,its really hard for a husband and wife to strengthen their marriage. But we don’t know the husband and wife relationship of this couple. And one more important point, during the accident they already knew she is pregnant. We don’t know whether they visited anOB/GYN or not. When you go for pregnancy checkup, the one main important question they ask is “Is anybody in your family abusing you?” or “Is there any possible abuse?”If you are an educated person you know what to do?

Gr8 act of mankind….
Mankind stood as the forefront criteria for the pak doctor….instead of pondering over her nationality, cast etc….prayin for her quick recovery
November 27th, 2007 at 10:35 pm
We don’t know which is the truth and which is not.But there is God.He know what to do.He’ll bring the justice now or later but he won’t skip or forget.
