Smithsonian Kite Festival DC
I am going to talk about two beautiful festivals here, Washington DC Kite Festival and Cherry Blossom Festival. Both these events celebrate the sunshine and outdoors right after when the winter period ebbs.
What a relief it is when the the winter clouds go away or part to make way for little bit of much needed sunshine after a long season of snow and darkness.
Smithsonian Kite Festival Washington DC
The Annual Smithsonian Kite Festival is usually held on a Saturday. The venue is generally the lush green grounds around the popular Washington Monument in Washington, D.C.. Anybody can participate and the festival is held from 10 am to 4 pm provided of course there is no sudden rain etc.
Its a free public event and is organized by the coveted Smithsonian Associates. Another favorite institute of mine National Air and Space Museum provide impetus for kite displays, demonstrations and handmade kite competitions.
Cherry Blossoms Festival
Cherry Blossoms are starting to blossom all over the Northeast US and to enjoy the sights and smells of these beautiful flowers you have a choice of plenty of festivals to choose from. Not only that, you can decide which all cities to visit to as well.
It is my opinion that each festival is going to be unique and has its own personal flavor. Here are couple of options to consider, you might wanna give a shot to Hanami, the ancient Japanese art of viewing cherry Blossoms as the flower goes through each stage of development etc.
