When I read this news, I felt mildly amused and slightly shocked. Food shortage is generally associated with third world countries and not the most powerful country in the world. But can you believe, America is facing a shortage of Buffalo Wings!
And what is even more interesting is that its the Super Bowl season. The time when consumption tends to peak.
Can you image all those super bowl parties without the wings? And not only that, the price of remaining chicken wings has sky rocketed. It has almost doubled. Where people used to pay something like 40 bucks for a bag, they now have to shell out $85 bucks.
And the reason for shortage? A big distributor of buffalo wings, a poultry farm in Texas recently filed for chapter eleven causing a distruption in supply.
Whats your take on this? How do you think this shortage can be resolved? And can you substitue this snack with something else.
