Imagine a eating place where you pay what you think the dish deserves. Go to the restaurant, order what you like and then make up your mind on how much you think you ought to pay? Sounds like a fantasy? Well not any more.
One World Cafe in Salt Lake City, Utah is one such place which leaves it up to the customers to decide the worth of what they order and eat.
But then as the concept grew popular and many more branches begin to open, along came issues that besiege any big organization like structure, accounting, bottom line etc.
One related issue happened at this place where when the manager was fired, all the employees walked off.
The employees cited the actions as unjustifiable and leading to mistrust but the management had a different perspective saying there was unexplainable inventory loss, time sheet related issues etc.
Check out the youtube video I have included below that gives a better insight into this philosophy and management of deciding the worth of the food and service.
