CEO Beaten To Death By Laid Off Employees

Given the state of American financial firms, imagine if the same happened here!

An India newspaper is reporting that the agitating employees of Gradiano, who had been dismissed recently, were having talks with the CEO of the company. When the meeting failed to produce any results, the employees got so upset that they beat the CEO to death.

The chief executive officer of a company was on Monday beaten to death by a group of dismissed employees inside office premises after a meeting, called to resolve dispute between them and management, failed.

L K Chaudhury, CEO of Gradiano in Udyog Vihar of Greater Noida, was killed when the agitating workers turned violent and beat him up.

About 20 people were injured in the clashes. Chaudhury was rushed to Kailash hospital where he was declared brought dead.

There were about 200 former employees inside the premises when the incident took place. They were dismissed two months back for some reasons and were since then protesting against it.

Although the employees have done something reprehensible, given the economic downturn and loss of paychecks can certain drive men to be unreasonable and illogical!

You cannot excuse such grotesque violent behavior stating “economic downturn and loss of paychecks”. What has happened is reprehensible and inexcusable. Each and every one of the workers who was party to this deserves punishment as per law.

Preethi, I am not disputing that this is a crime. I am just trying to explain it and that by no means diminishes the heinous nature of this.
