So finally it happened. I knew it all along. But here it is in fine print. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison who is a Republican from Texas has announced that she is dropping out of the race for the No. 3 Republican leadership job. This was made public by the republican congress sources.
Hutchison is informing her GOP colleagues and in the process setting the platform for a new face in the Republican hierarchy. No prizes for guessing who its going to be. The race has boiled down to two contenders – a two-man race for GOP Conference Chairman: Sens. Richard Burr of North Carolina and Lamar Alexander of Tennessee.
