The DVD Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West from the Clarion Fund has been featured in couple of newspapers today morning. There is a shiny 10″x10″ cover that makes the film sound like a celebrated academy award winning movie. From what I have heard the movie shows a long series of one on ones with the agenda of trying to equate radical Muslim movements with the German Nazis.
There are plenty of images showing radical and fundamentalist Muslims desecrating places of worship. To give it a touch of bashing liberals on the side, it disses Michael Moore for not being scared and taking this threat seriously.
There are reports that 27 million copies of this movie were given for free (distributed) in the states that are going to be battle ground constituencies in the coming elections. (Is this act the equivalent of code Orange?)
The house which created this movie – Clarion Fund is a right wing group. From what I can make out and see on the internet, this is a one man army group run by, Peter Mier. Another fact that you might find interesting is that this group is tax exempt.

The film also traces the parallels between the Nazi movement of World War II, the Radicals of today, and the Western world’s response to both threats.
While I think fanatical and fundamentalist islam is definitely a problem, using this movie as a base for voting would be playing into the hands of right wing nuts who are solely using this as a tool to manipulate the elections. We need a rational logical and long term strategy to defeat this evil rather than use blusters like smoke ‘em out, chase them to the gates of hell etc.
I was shocked to find this in my paper –But my reaction was a little different –Is the newspaper industry that desperate that they would accept advertising from anyone — Well I’m cancelling my subscription to the Milwaukee Journal and I recomend others do the same
Bob, its funny how simpletons play right into the hands of those who use it as a tool specifically during such times.
I too was extremely upset to find this DVD in The Denver Post this morning and plan to cancel my subscription ASAP. Clearly, this is an hour of propaganda that will sway some voters in the upcoming election. Scare tactics that many people will fall for….that’s really wrong!
This is so shocking one can only assume it’s propaganda. At first. But it isn’t. There’s nothing factually untrue in this film. Islamists control Iran and Sudan, they had Afghanistan, and they’re a powerful 5th column in nuclear Pakistan and many other Islamic nations. They believe they are on a divine mission to conquer the world for Allah, and it doesn’t matter how many non Muslims and Muslims die in pursuit of this goal. And that is why they are so dangerous, and would be so much more so once nuclear.
Don’t bother to cancel your new paper subscription. My copy came direct from the mail… Need to drop you postal service to solve this one. Or just put it file 13 with all the other wasteful stuff. My condolences to those who watched it.
Let me ask this. If your wife was killed in the twin towers would you still turn the other cheek? If your baby was killed at the nusery at Oklahoma city because of the actions of a radical idiot! Would you still turn the other cheek? This country once was proud, full of proud people that would stand up for what is right. The values that this country was founded on are leaving us. Why? Everyone including politicians run their mouth- imagine if you loose your wife, son, daughter, mom, dad to violence because you were Jewish or Christian. Open your eyes, if you think things are not so bad take a trip to a radical spot in the world away from your local police dept. or your safety zone what ever that might be! Everyone that has an opinion can state it but what have they ever seen to back that opinion up?
Dan, its not that we are not cognizant of this issue. What I have a problem against is, politicians and special interest groups taking advantage of this emotional issue solely to suit their game plan.
People in the Bush coterie, instead of going hammer and tongs after the 9/11 perpetrators, took their eye off the ball and diverted attention to oil wells in Iraq.
The simple fact is, these Clarion project people are using this issue as a tool during the election period to manipulate and push for their nefarious agenda.
I agree Troy. I think sometimes there where times in the past that were better but then I think how it would really suck to keep warm with my small pox blanket. All I can say is that I hope for my hands to be swift, my eyes to be keen and my heart to do good for mankind when it is once again my time to go across the pond. The peasant makes the king fat.
