Tons of comic and science fiction fans were likely disappointed on Monday when technical issues on the Comic Con International 2011 web site led to the re-scheduling of ticket sales.Â
They should have called the “Geek Squad” to fix the technical issues … yes, poking fun, but I am amongst this audience as a fan of some science fiction, super heroes, and of course, “The Big Bang Theory,” so I am allowed to point out the irony, aren’t I?
So, the San Diego Comic Con 2011 four-day passes and single-day passes ($105 for the four-day pass and $37 for the single-day pass) were supposed to go on sale today (November 1, 2010). The new date will be announced on November 8, 2010 on the Comic Con web site.
The message below is posted on the Comic Com web site:
WE’RE SORRY ABOUT REGISTRATION
We are really sorry for the problems with registration today. We do not know what the technical issues are, so we have temporarily closed registration.
We will announce on Monday November 8th the new date and time that registration will reopen. This down time will allow us to determine and address the issues.
Only a handful of badges were actually sold today.
Thank you for your patience, and again, we all are truly sorry for this inconvenience.
