Host Jimmy Fallon will help modernize the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards by welcoming public comments via Twitter about the TV ceremony’s presenters – such as Tina Fey, Matthew Morrison, Neil Patrick Harris, Betty White, Matthew Perry, Jim Parsons, Jon Hamm – for Sunday’s Emmy Awards.
Fallon and his team of writers will then pick the best Tweets and incorporate them into his on-air material. Fallon will host the event at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The ceremony will air live on Sunday, August 29, 2010, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC.
For details on where and how to Tweet About the Presenters, click here. Below are instructions from NBC.com, but you can log in to your Twitter account here and send out your tweets.
“Here’s how to do it: Once you’ve signed into your Twitter account, click on one of the presenter names. For example, let’s say it’s Jon Hamm. As you click his name, you’ll see Jon Hamm’s name automatically shows up in your tweet. Now just fill in something about Jon directly following his name. It could be “Jon Hamm is the handsomest Mad Man ever” or “Jon Hamm can sell me stuff anytime” or whatever. It’s totally up to you.
You will notice “#imontheemmys” will be included in your tweet as well. Don’t delete it! This is called a “hashtag” on Twitter and allows for groups of tweets with the same hashtag to be viewed as a list. Including the #imontheemmys hashtag will not only help us find your Tweet but it will also allow you to see what other people are tweeting about the presenters as well.
Jimmy & our staff will be reading and choosing tweets up to and during the live 2010 Emmy Awards which start at 8E/5P on Sunday August 29th on NBC.
Have fun and get tweeting!
