Chicken Nugget Recall 2010: Perdue Farms, sold at Wal-Mart

Chicken nugget lovers are not happy, as Perdue chicken nuggets sold at Walmart have been recalled.  Consumers have reported finding little flecks of blue plastic inside the meat, prompting a recall.  Although 9,000 pounds have been recalled, no injuries or illnesses have been reported.

The nuggets are sold under the brand name “Great Value.”  Yes, that’s right – Walmart’s generic brand name for their lines of food.  For all you Walmart shoppers, this is not good news.

Those who have affected product are instructed not to use it and to bring it into their local store in order to receive a full refund of the purchase price.  The lot number associated with the recall is 89008-A-0160 and an establishment code of P-33944.

As a busy mom who likes to make snacks for her kids such as chicken nuggets, this news is disheartening.  Parents these days must keep an eye on all news such as this so that they don’t give their children tainted food or nuggets.
