There’s a picture alleged to be rapper Snoop Dogg partially naked making the rounds of the less family friendly websites on the internet, like Imagebam.com. The picture of the popular Snoop Dogg shows him reclined in a vehicle, a bit exposed. MediaTakeOut.com shows the picture with Snoop Dogg’s naked bit (read: his penis) covered with a large red “CENSORED” box. And it must be said: That’s a pretty big box hiding what Snoop Dogg is supposed to be packing.
Is it real or is it photoshopped? No, not the penis. Although the picture seems authentic enough, the segment of the picture that shows Snoop Dogg’s face could be a photoshopped image. It’s not as if it hasn’t been done before. From Sarah Palin in an American flag bikini to Britney Spears’ see-through clothing (not to be confused with later, genuine pictures, of Britney Spears in see-through clothing or sans clothing — such as underwear), images of stars are constantly being photoshopped — as a joke, as a way to drive traffic to a website, as shameless self-promotion, etc. Of course, there are also the thousands of naked pictures and video images of celebrities that haven’t been photoshopped at all.Â
Perhaps Snoop Dogg just got tired of seeing all the press on Tess Taylor and Kara DioGuardi and Kim Kardashian and the like and, in a moment of candor, figured if they could show naked body parts, he could do photograph his penis. But it is unclear when the naked picture was taken, so there’s no telling how old the image might be.Â
Snoop Dogg rose to fame after collaborating with Dr. Dre on several tracks on Dre’s debut album, 1992’s “The Chronic.” A year later, the former gangbanger/convict (Snoop Dogg, a member of the notorious Crips, was sentenced to three years in prison on cocaine possession charges) turned rapper released his own solo album, “Doggystyle,” which sold quadruple platinum (four million units) and produced several hit singles. Known as much for his easy come-easy go attitude, his marijuana smoking, his film roles, and his street cred as he is for his music, Snoop Dogg continues to release popular albums, his latest, “Malice In Wonderland” (2009), was re-released in March as “More Malice,” and contains seven extra tracks, featuring other popular rappers like Kid Cudi and Soulja Boy.Â
No word yet if Snoop Dogg will just roll with the publicity (either acknowledging the naked picture or not) or hire a lawyer.Â
Strangely enough, there’s no bong present, but the man’s eyelids are suspiciously lowered…
