After all of the drama surrounding his exit from NBC and rumors he would move to Fox, late-night talk-show host Conan O’Brien has found a home with the TBS cable network.
O’Brien will headline an 11 p.m. late-night show (Monday through Thursday) for the cable network in November, TBS announced on Monday. His program will serve as a lead-in to current late-night show “Lopez Tonight,” with host George Lopez. “Lopez Tonight” will move to the midnight timeslot.
“In three months I’ve gone from network TV to Twitter to performing live in theaters, and now I’m headed to basic cable. My plan is working perfectly,” said a sarcastic O’Brien.
O’Brien has mostly stayed out of the public eye since stepping down from “The Tonight Show” on NBC in January, but has spent some time with his fans via Twitter and a multi-city tour. He left NBC in exchange for a cash payout of a reported more than $40 million, and was free to appear on another network after Sept. 1.
