Carl Yastrzemski Hospitalized

The old timers would remember the hall of famer Carl Yastrzemski as the last player to hit for the Triple Crown. Cark is in news because he was taken to hospital for tests complaining about chest pains.

The Boston Red Sox, Carl’s old team, also confirmed that the 68-year-old Yastrzemski was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital and was undergoing evaluation and testing.

Although the PR is saying these are routine tests, I would say, given the age anytime you are in a hospital, its pretty serious.

A bit about his background, the popular Yaz, as he was know during his hey days, was an 18-time All-Star and spent his entire career in Boston, taking over left field for Ted Williams in 1961 and playing through 1983.

Thats a long long time back but the memory is still fresh among the base ball lovers.
