Home Run Derby

A case of Sudden Death winner again. Last winner whom I reported about was Tiger Woods when he won the masters. This time its Morgan Clark. Morgan and Logan Bodine remained tied after the final round of the JCSA Home Run Derby Monday, so the two decided to use sudden death rules to finalize on the winner.

During the grace period, Morgan hit one more home run than Bodine to win the 2008 JCSA home run contest.

Interesting thing about the age, Clark recently turned 13 and will be an eighth grader this fall. He finished in a three-way tie after the first round with three home runs.

A total of 13 players competed in this derby.

Beginning Sunday, the best swimmers in the country will converge on Qwest Arena in Omaha, Nebraska. In about a week, 8 days to be precise, nearly four years of training, sacrifice and hard work will come to a head. The top two finishers in each event have their dreams realized in the form of a ticket to the Beijing Olympics, while everyone else will wait for the next 4 years.

Its going to be a day of chlorine and tears. You can bet on that. But the tears are not going to be because of chlorine.

It took them an awful lot of time to get there but they had to sit out the first round because they sent the 28th pick to Memphis as part of the Pau Gasol trade, but they eventually selected Kentucky guard Joe Crawford with the 58th pick.

Jimmy Johns Pit Bulls

Recently the tide athlete Jimmy John was arrested on substance abuse charges but thats not what turned out to be a bigger controversy. What got everybody’s [fans, critics, radio talk shows] goat was the Pit Bull breeding website.

Although there was nothing illegitimate about it, it reminded everybody and triggered bad memories about an equally infamous case. That of Michael Vick and his pit bull breeding and fighting business.
