If you prefer to use the natural way of whitening the skin, there are many natural foods, vitamins, and minerals that are known to have lightening qualities in them.

Lemon

When added in water or rubbed directly on the face from the pulp, lemon can produce a whitening effect to the skin. It is said that citric acid or vitamin C is in significant quantities in lemon, lime, orange, and other citrus fruits. It plays a crucial part in the production of collagen which helps keep the skin smooth and bright. Citric acid has also been shown to significantly delay the activity of overactive melanocytes, the cells that produce melanin in the lowest layers of the skin which causes the skin to tan or become darker.

Aloe Vera Gel

When taken directly from the Aloe Vera plant, Aloe Vera gel can reduce hyperpigmentation, rebuild cells and even the skin tone. Likewise, new cell growth is encouraged by the cooling effects of aloe.

Niacin (Vitamin B-3)

Niacin is a very popular ingredient known to mitigate the production of melanin (pigment) to the skin. Vitamin B applied to localized areas of the skin discoloration or dryness improves the ability of the skin to retain moisture. The result is a softer, smoother, and more supple skin.

Morus Alba

Morus Alba or white mulberry extract is a natures gift to the skincare addicts that inhibits the enzyme tyrosinase. Tyrosinase triggers the production of melanin which is a broad term for a family of pigments in the skin that can cause skin discoloration and hyperpigmentation.

Yogurt

Aside from possessing vast number of nutrients that are considered good for excellent overall health, yogurt also contains lactic acid that has bleaching properties. It is applied and used in treating all skin types by simply leaving the yogurt on the skin and washing it off with a lukewarm water after a few minutes. When done once a day for several weeks, a noticeable change in the complexion will become apparent.

Garbanzo bean flour

Garbanzo bean flour is one of the best natural resources for people whose aim is to lighten their skin complexion. Simply mix some garbanzo bean (chick pea) flour with a small amount of water to make a thick paste and then apply it on the face, hands and legs to whiten your skin. Allow the paste to dry and then wash off the application with water.

Phyllanthus Emblica (Indian gooseberry)

Like the other citrus fruits, the extract from this plant has an antioxidant component with unique antimicrobial properties and copious amounts of Vitamin C. Emblica protects the skin from photo-damage, effectively reducing wrinkles, holding in check the formation of melanin, and helping the skin to retain natural moisture.

Honey

Honey has been used in lot of traditional medicines especially in south asia. Honey helps lighten the skin while also acting as a moisturizing agent. Dry skin is a common factor that contributes to blotchy, uneven skin color and tones. Honey is also an antibacterial that can help age spots dim, and smooth out acne scars. Apply a pure honey on the face, leaving it on for a few minutes and then wash it with lukewarm water. A skin lightening mask can be made by combining one teaspoon of honey and one of lemon juice, one tablespoon of powdered milk, and one-half teaspoon of almond oil. Mix well and apply gently to the skin. Apply every other day, and leave on for 10 to15 minutes, washing it off with cold water for best results.

Teas

Teas are an excellent antioxidant and researches have shown that drinking tea can lower peroxides, a major cause of skin burn and roughness.

Beetroot purges toxins through the body’s metabolism. It contains potassium, iron, magnesium, phosphorous, fiber and vitamins A, B, and C that will help lighten and make the complexion look fairer.

There are also synthetic products known to help whiten your skin and they are usually commercially available at any dermatology centers and local cosmetic stores. Most of these whitening products contain the following chemicals that are known to produce skin whitening effects.

whiten your skin

Medications can help whiten the skin
Hydroquinone is an organic compound known to be a strong suppressor of melanin. It helps to lighten the skin without any bleaching effects. Its main action is to inhibit melanin production on the skin that is responsible for hyperpigmentation and skin darkening. Some countries ban products containing hydroquinone however, owing to the speculations that it may contain carcinogenic chemicals. There is no actual study that can support the actual health risks of the chemical however. Topical applications on the other hand have reported minor negative reaction on the skin when used in high concentrations. The adverse reaction is higher among African women and the reaction usually takes place when it is applied alongside other skin lightening agents such as glucocorticoids or mercury iodine. Hydroquinone has been shown to cause leukemia in mice and other animals, however through heavy oral dosage.

Corticosteroids

Corticosteroids are often used as ingredients in cortisone cream, which is known to help reduce skin itching and dry, flaky skins. It is also used as an anti-inflammatory agent that helps prevent skin breakouts while producing a lightening effect to the skin.

Mercurials

Simply known as mercury, mercurials are as compound known for its lightening effects. However, it is rarely used in many cosmetics owing to the body immune system’s sensitivity to mercury that can cause bodily reactions. Metallic mercury vapors or organic mercury may affect many different areas of the brain and their associated functions, resulting in many disorders, including personality changes, tremors, changes in sight (constriction the field of vision), deafness, muscle incoordination, loss of sensation and difficulties with memory.

Lastly, there are many variations of natural foods, minerals, and herbal agents that can offer the safest, not to mention the tasty ways of achieving a lighter skin tone. You can whiten your skin safely using the natural healing power of nature without the risk of toxicity. Choosing the right products to apply on the skin in order to obtain the desired whitening effect is crucial to protect yourself against the harmful effects of skin whitening chemicals that can possibly do more harm than good to your skin health.

Argan oil is a tree based oil that is cold pressed from the Argan tree. Argan trees are mostly native to Morocco and have been used by the people of that region – Berber – for centuries due to its healing and rejuvenation properties.

In the past 5 years, the popularity of argan oil has exploded as more and more people in the western countries find out about the properties and benefits of this liquid gold.

One area of application that has particularly gained a lot of momentum is the hair. Argan oil on hair can provide a rich and luxurious shine. But besides the cosmetic difference that is visible right away, argan oil also increases the health of the hair by providing it much needed nourishment and nutrients. Argan oil is very versatile and can be used in variety of ways on your hair.

Ali Larter recommends Arzoyi Argan oil

My favorite way of using it is the lengthy deep conditioning treatments, after shower application and managing dry hair by massaging it every few days. Also I have noticed that if you have split ends, just application a few drop to the hair ends can work wonders and give you results very fast.

Deep conditioning is also very popular in saloons and spas and is much appreciated by those who have tried it. It can help in restoring long last health of the hair to dry and damaged hair.

Here is exactly how I like to perform the deep conditioning on my hair. I create a thorough, deep conditioning treatment by working the oil through out my hair. How much hair you would need is based on your own personal needs. Short hair will of course need less and the longer your hair the more oil you would need. The best part if of course the massage on the scalp. It puts me to sleep right away :) Also say good by to itchy and dry skin on your scalp.

After the deep conditioning you have couple of choices. If your hair is short and manageable without any accessory, you can leave them be. But if you have long hair like me, I like to either wrap them in a towel and sit down with a drink next to the pool…aah thats a different story. Or I put them in a braid and go about my daily business at home.

Just make sure that if you would be coming in contact with other things, then its best to wrap a towel around your head as you dont want things sticking in your hair. Also, if you decide to leave the oil on for the night, cover the bed and pillow so stains do not get into the sheet.

If you are short on time and want a quick service, application after shower is the best way to go. The hair is already damp so you dont need much oil. Just put a few drops, massage into the pam of your hair to warm it up and then rub it on problem areas on your hair.

Arzoyi argan oil is fast absorbing, USDA organic argan oil does not have a strong aroma, and it dissipates on application. I would recommend this oil as not only it is safe but most effective as well.

Look Back In Time – About Secretariat

I loved this movie. And looks like people who saw this movie loved it and are now searching for more information on this. If you are, you have come to the right page.

Secretariat was born in 1970 and died in 1989. In all the big brown Secretariat live for 19 years and boy what years where they. In the next few outlines you will see this was no run of the mill race horse.

Secretariat was all American red blooded Thoroughbred racehorse. Soon after Secretariat was born, to be precise, in 1973, Secretariat won the first U.S. Triple Crown champion. And mind you, this was after twenty-five years since the last time an all American red blooded horse won like this.

In the process, Secretariat set a new record in two of the three races in the Kentucky and Belmont stakes.

The movie is a big hit.

The record is still standing today. Even after 35 years plus we have not seen a thoroughbred like Secretariat.

Who were Secretariat’s mommy and daddy.

Secretariat was sired by Bold Ruler out of Somethingroyal, by Princequillo. He was foaled at Meadow Farm in Caroline County, Virginia. Like his famous predecessor Man o’ War, Secretariat was a large chestnut colt and was given the same nickname, “Big Red.”

I have pasted some photos of this majestic being below. Check them out.
