When asked why she was doing “Dancing With The Stars,” reality show personality Kate Gosselin said she “was a single mom trying to make money.” And “Dancing With The Stars” must think having her on the cast list for the 2010 version of the show is going to be a ratings boon (read: make them some money), because, according to TMZ, the show has footed the bill for a dance studio to be built in the basement of Kate Gosselin’s Pennsylvania home.Â
The 34-year-old mother of eight will practice downstairs while the Plus 8 do their thing(s) upstairs. She will fly out to Los Angeles for two days a week to videotape “Dancing With The Stars,” but the children will remain home. While she’s gone, the children will be overseen by a nanny.Â
But all that special treatment and practice just might all go for naught. According to Bodog.com, which lists odds on various things, Kate Gosselin is listed as the least likely to win the competition at 15 to 1 odds. She’s tied with 80-year-old former astronaut Buzz Aldrin.Â
The most likely to win? No surprise, it’s gold medalist Evan Lysacek, with ESPN reporter Erin Andrews and Cincinnati Bengals star receiver Chad Ochocinco close behind.Â
At one time, Kate Gosselin was a hot commodity. Her books were bestsellers. Her TLC reality show “Jon and Kate Plus 8” was a hit. But fame and fortune led to tabloid titles that reflected more truth than speculation and Jon and Kate Gosselin became the center of scandal (divorce, affairs, custody) and the topic of ridicule, from the way they conducted their private and public lives to the impact their show and the non-stop publicity was having on their children.
After all has been said and done, though, it looks as if Kate Gosselin can still find the spirit to dance — for money, because apparently Jon Gosselin’s child support isn’t going far enough to support the Plus 8 children in that massive Pennsylvania home. Still, regardless of how long she remains with the “Dancing With The Stars” cast in the 2010 season, at least she got a free dance studio out of it.
If she flies in for two days to tape, when will she decide what costume she will wear and when will she have a fitting. I hope that the first show is her last show.
bravo for kate for doing this! she has to provide and support her family. after all the costs jon squandered on his selfish and lusty desires, kate has to do even more for the family. jon cannot even support himself let alone his eight kids… now that he dug himself a massive hole by looking like a big douce and sleazeball… so why bash kate for doing something even if it is for money for the family? i laugh at the thought of people telling her to get a real job now… there’s no more going back to normal after reality tv… i mean GET REAL people. you think after all this time with cameras following her around that she’s going to write a resume and apply for a ‘real’ job… go back to nursing?! would that kind of income even support her eight kids?! she’s on her own now after the divorce. jon won’t get off his ass cause all he thinks of is himself… so literally she’s flying solo… so if anything. i applaud her dedication, her hard work and perseverance despite the storm that is thrown at her. she’s making the best of the situation she’s in now… just because she’s working, going out there in the world to make some money doesn’t mean she is abandoning her kids or she doesn’t love them. go kate. screw all the critics! and if someone can find a better way to raise eight kids other than government assistance, sitting on their asses, or living from paycheck to paycheck then don’t say anything! it makes me laugh cause these are the very critics that envy a life that she has! almost everyone if not everyone has a little bit of wanting to be famous or rich inside. does anyone ever wonder why millions of ppl play the lottery everyday? this is the society and culture we built didn’t we? money is king isn’t it? it’s a sad situation for kate. you win some and you lose some. some people will never understand and always think the worst. i think she’s human and she’s trying her best. goo kate!! kate will probably never read this.. but to her… i hope she stays positive & strong! to do what she needs to do. i don’t know her finances. but maybe she needs money after what jon did. or maybe she just needs money for the kids or even to spoil herself once in a while. do what you want. live your life to the fullest. don’t let anyone bring you down.
I have never seen such an arrogant women, who by the by, has no reason to be arrogant. She’s a tool. Poor, poor, pitiful me..boo hoo for Gosslin. Get a job lady. IN THE REAL WORLD, women with children work real jobs. I must stop, she makes me nuts!
