I don’t know this girl, Sahel. I think if anything she was trying too hard to become Americanized too quickly. I’m not saying that being Americanized means making poor choices in life. But Sahel’s case is one that we see too often in cases of people who have moved to America from dictatorial and confined countries: young women who moved to America in their formative years, but whose primary upbringing was not in this country. These girls try too hard, too quickly and with a warped view of what it means to be “Americanized” to fit into their new surroundings. They want too much too quickly, and many times they end up making some very regrettable decisions.

I have been reading alot about this in the past couple of days. And I can’t believe all the hateful comment about this 20 year old girl. McNair not only lied to his family, but also lied to Sahel, about getting a divorce. She is not a who.re or a s.lut, she is a 20 year girl looking for love and Mr. McNair gave that to her, and showered her with gifts and trips. McNair even went and met her relatives and told them a lie. I truly feel sorry for Sahel, and what she must have been going through to get her to that point of killing someone and then herself. I also feel very sorry for the McNair family and everything that they are dealing with right now. But one person I really don’t feel sorry for is Steve, no he shouldn’t have died over this, but some common sense would have kept him alive.

Is anyone commenting actually Iranian? Actually been to Iran? I am and I have many times. Few here seem to have a clue as to what they’re talking about in regards to Iranian people and culture.
It’s always easier for the human mind, especially simple ones, to lump large, varying masses of people & information together into one category (ex: the Middle East) as opposed to using the necessary brain power to distinguish between distinct groups & ideas.
