Ron Pratte Car Collection

Before I get to the car collection, I am sure you all want to know who is Ron Pratte. If there is one word that defines Mr Pratte (sometimes misspelled as Pratt), it is secretive. He is not only tight lipped about his plans, visions, ideas etc but also his actions. Quite a private man he is.

Ron Pratte is a resident of Chandler, Arizona, and he is the submitter of the $5 million winning bid for Carroll Shelby’s Supersnake Cobra. Much to the chagrin of the media, he has never without fail refused all kinds of press briefings and interviews.

Ron is a man who knows what he wants and sure knows all the means to fulfill his wants. Ron is the brains behinds the Pratte Development Company, Inc., which builds one of the nations largest wood framing and concrete foundation companies. To top it off, he has his business located in one of the fastest growing areas of the country.

Most of the other car aficionados know Ron Pratte from his last years purchase of Futurliner bus (he brought it for over 4 million dollars) so he ain’t really a new comer on the Mustang and Shelby scene. It’s not for nothing he brought the first Shelby GT500 last year for over half a million dollars.

One of my friends was lucky enough to catch Ron Pratte at the Barrett Jackson auction and saw the sale of the legendary Supersnake Cobra. Many were astonished because like my friend, many had never seen or heard of this quiet American (Ron Pratte) before. But if there is one word that described him, it was the sum of laid back, cool, and smart.

By now of course we know that Ron has a penchant for rare automobiles and is particular about his privacy. I don’t find that hard to respect. Considering that Ron is a self made man and built his empire from grounds up. At this time, I think most of the fans would agree that they hope Ron’s car collection is kept in a fire and weather proof climate controlled building with a Fort Knox like security. We certainly don’t want to lose those American jewels, Mr Pratte.

I am watching the Barrett Jackson live, collectors auction. Ron, you are an amazing man, to give so much to those in need. I saw the car you purchased for two hundred thousand and donated it back, it generated four hundred thousand to purchase wheel chairs…Again you are amazing! I one day hope to attend the Barrett Jackson Auctions in person. I hope that I could be lucky enough to meet you at one.

hi i was just wondering where rons collection was and how i could possibly get a tour for my father and i.. he would keel over im sure if he saw it. thank you.

    17. peter lamboo says:

I love cars just like every person on this site. Mr Pratte could very well be just as enthusiastic about his vast collection. If you don’t like it you have a decision to make. Make more money so you can outbid him or move to Russia or one of many other communist countries and be one of the few that don”t even own a car. My point is; we live in a free capitalistic society :LOVE it or leave it.

    18. Gary Woodards says:

jay My collection is growing. My friends call me the Black Jay leno of Anchorage. I heard you say that you never sell any of your car stuff. You just get a bigger building. Thank you for that statement. It cleard up alot of things in my life. Just a thought. Do you collect rare colonial coines or no someone that does?

    19. Peter Sawler says:

Ya, but how much money did you give to chartities?
I’m sure he has you beat there also, that’s where the real honour lies!
