Just heard the news that Bob Bowersox is leaving QVC. He has announced plans for retirement, he is going to hang his boots and call it a day.
On December 21, 2008, David Venable from QVC reported that Bob Bowersox was going to resign from QVC to handle more pressing personal assignments like writing and acting ventures. The resignation was effective immediately. Meaning Bob was resigning on the same day as this was announced.
This strikes me as strange because it being at such short notice, it seems like Bob was asked to resign or face expulsion. Did Bob do something which angered the upper management? Otherwise people take a conscious and deliberate decision after planning with their friends and family and announce retirement in a scheduled manner.

This seems to be missing in Bob’s case. I have not been following Bob lately but those who have, might know better about the circumstances under which Bob was literally “laid off” from QVC.
David filled in for Bob on In the popular QVC show Kitchen with Bob. This was right after QVC aired a pre-taped goodbye from Bob to all his fans world wide. At this point I am not sure if David is permanently going to be the new Bob Bowersox on In the Kitchen.
If you want to speculate on this, use the feedback section below.
Your fans will miss you and your beautiful wife from the scene. The fans are also interested in knowing whether you will keep up with public appearances so they know whats going on with your life.
Bob Bowersox Divorce
Toni Bowersox and Bob Bowersox are getting a divorce as well and since they have an offspring, a lot of fans are hoping the case is settled amicably in the best interest of the child.
Remember sometime back Toni was introduced on the show and when the camera panned at her hand, diligent fans were able to make out there was no ring on her finger.
Good luck to Bob Bowersox. If you guys have any feedback, lets start a discussion below.
Also, check out a video I found of Bob, shows Jamie Novak as well.

QVC sells over 6 billion dollars a year. It is about the products and the no-hassle returns. The hosts don’t matter as much in the scheme of things. However, I did like Bob’s kitchen show on QVC. He was at QVC a long time and I think he deserved a much better send off. I agree that his private life should stay PRIVATE. I’ve read a lot of the same garbage that some have posted on here, and all I can think is that it could be from his ex-wife Toni. If so, it sounds like he is much better off without her. I agree that he still has a very bright future ahead of him on TV or movies. I’ll be the first to buy his book or see him in a TV show or movie. His career is by no means over. I think it really stinks for the poor guy if it is his ex who is spreading gossip. No one deserves that.
Is there ever a straight man on this network??? I’m gay and have been in bars surrounded by gay guys that were butcher than this bunch. David V. Dan Hughes and pretty Rick D…give me a break..never seen more feminine men. And the all time topper is the affinity diamond queen…Michael O’Connor…my God…ALL GIRL. Their products have gone way down and frankly the whole channel looks like a gender bender festival
I think bob was a very good host for many years but his private
life should stay private.
I miss Bob and the Sunday morning “In the Kitchen with Bob.”
I do not care about his personal business.
QVC should have handled Bob’s leaving in a more dignified manner after
all his years of service.
In the Kitchen with Bob was part of Sunday brunch time at our house. His calm voice and his professionalism made watching him and all the new and innovative products a pleasure to watch. Of course QVC is a convenient and easy way to shop but the presenters do the selling of the product. We will miss seeing him each Sunday.
We wish him only the best of luck and happiness in the future.
If anybody could sell a product it was Bob. He was the best host on QVC, explaining how everything worked. All those so called friends of his on QVC should be so ashamed for not standing by such a wonderful kind man.
I miss so many of the original hosts. Such as Kathy Levine, Jeff Hewson, Bob Bowersox, and others whose faces I remember, but names have faded.
It seemed more relaxed, like family, then. Now it is BIG business.
I don’t miss Jeff Hewson. What he did to Judy was unthinkable. Many of these ‘hosts’ seem quite full of themselves. Face it, people, they’re salesmen, nothing more and nothing less. It’s their job to get us to buy something whether we need it or not. Some may very well be nice people, some may not. Heck, go to a factory where they make gears – some of the gear-makers are probably nice people, some not. It’s that way everywhere, just on TV and with sales folk, the egos seem to grow exponentially depending on how big their sales base/audience becomes.
i, all of a sudden, am missing Bob Bowersox. Funny how the personalities on qvc become part of our lives.
Bob was a true gentleman at all times on all of his shows. I wish him all that life has to offer.
Best of luck Bob.
We miss bob so very much he was a fantastic host…no matter what happened I feel so bad about the whole situation and hope they bring him back or put him on another shopping channel. He had such a way with talking with people and has such a nice charming way about him and I love his voice. His personal life is just that!! We miss him terribly. Wish him all the best!! Please come back Bob!!!!!
Hope to hear you can come back somewhere on tv just love you!!!!
All the best!!
I worked at QVC a few years back. Most of the show hosts were very friendly. Bob Bowersox thought he stood high above the rest. Glad to see hime go.
Mike Rowe was the best host.
I ALSO FEEL MIKE ROWE WAS A GREAT HOST, TO GOOD TO GOOD TO STAY WITH QVC. BUT HE HAS TURNED THAT EXPERIANCE INTO MONEY & MANY NEW JOBS GOOD LUCK TO MIKE
I MISS BOB BOWERSOX BUT HIS REPLACEMENT IS VERHY GOOD HE BRINGS A LOT OF LIFE TO THE PROGRAM.
I STILL SHOP QVC AS I TRUST YOUR PRODUCTS AND WHEN THERE IS A PROBLEM ANDS IT IS TAKEN CCARE OF WITH NO PROBLEM .YOUR PERSONALITIES ARE VERY GOOD AT WHAT THEY DO AND PLEASANT ALONG WITH IT.
A FAITHFUL CUSTOMER
I MISS BOWERSOX BUT HIS REPLACEMENT IS VERY GOOD HE BRINGS A LOT OF LIFE TO THE PROGRAM. WHAT EVER THE REASON BOB LEFT I WISH HIM WELL AND THAT EVERYTHING WILL TURN OUT THE WAY THAT IS BEST FOR HIM AND HIS FAMILY.
I SHOP QVC .I KNOW YOUR PEOPLE ARE SALESWMAN BUT THAT IS WHAT THERE
DO IF IT WAS’NT I WOULD NOT BE WATCHING WOULD I. THEY ARE VERY PROFESIONAL. I PURCHASE BECAUSE I KNOW IF THERE IS A PROBLEM IT WILL BE HANDLED .
I agree with Linda. I miss the early hosts amd the nature of the early programs. I still remember fondly watching all day on Halloween to see what costumes the hosts would wear – especially Steve Coluntino, who normally wore something ridiculous. I watched ba lot because I enjoyed the show and liked the hosts as individuals.
I also bought way too much. I haven’t watched now, or purchased anything for a long time and probably won’t.
I had been off QVC for awhile, and wondered what happened to Bob Bowersox. He was a great host, and enjoyable to watch and listen to. After 20 + years of dedication to QVC, the QVC family and viewers. I don’t think it matters why he left. Personal or Professional he was a fantastic host. I wish him well. And his family. His personal business should be kept personal.
I always liked Bob Bowersox and In the Kitchen with Bob was the one main show i would watch. I also like David and he is doing a great job.
I was off of qvc for awhile as I had some medical problems, but when i went back I saw a lot of new people and I really think QVC needs to find people like Bob Bowersox to host the show as I wouldn’t buy from some of your new people. They talk over the person showing merchandise like they are the person who knows the item best and laugh and laugh which is annoying.
Please bring Bob Bowersox back and get rid of some of your new people.
off topic…does anyone know if Shaun K (qvc host) is married? I thought she was but I was reading her blogs and she never mentions him. Talks about going out with friends all the time.
