An era has come to an end. More specifically Russ Martin era has culminated and how? By the protagonist himself shown the door. Quite a traigc and unfortunate end.
The popular and high rated radio show host from Dallas Russ Martin has allegedly been fired from his trademark show Live 105.3 FM and the reason given was that the station has changed its format to an all jocks err sports station.
The station rechristened itself and will be known as 105.3 FM The Fan but guess what, all the other channels retain their format and only Russ Martin faced the chopping block.
But good ‘ol Russ is not a stranger to all this high drama. Martin has seen all this in his career spanning almost seven years and has made headlines when he was busted by cops for charges relating to his girl friend.

Whoever wrote this “article” got most of it wrong.Russ was 1 of 5 shows cancelled. RMS,The Dan O’Malley Show,The Evert Newton Show,Big Dick’s Wild Ass
Circus and The Tom Leykis Show.Only 2 shows were retained,The Jagger Show and Ben and Skin. Now CBS Radio will have to pay out Russ and J’D. contrcts which combined is probably over $6 million a year until 2011 unless which is more likely they will settle so Russ will be back on air within mere months.I think The Bone should hire Russ and the rest of the treehouse.The RMS brought inso much money through advertisers that they will make 2 or 3 times what is paid out to bring the RMS to their station.Of course P&K WOULD HAVE TO BE FIRED AGAIN but that is always greatness!
Funny, its been 8 months, still no Russ Martin, and 9.33 the bone has changed twice, and is now a hiphop station…

I miss Russ and his gang. The new people are boring. It wasn’t like he was Howard Stern, but he had a funny edge.
Did not care for the Russ Martin show, but i enjoyed the Tom Leykis, Big Dick show, and Love line…
I hate this new format of only sports. After the Jaggar Show I tune out, and I used to listen to this station all day long.

Just got word from an inside source that Russ is going to be back on the air in June. Source was not able to confirm the call letters but did confirm that it is going to be DFW based.
I always found Russ Martin to be the epitomy of arrogance. I guess it would be safe to add stupidity to my assessment now.
