Jesse Helms, the conservative senator died today on fourth of July at the age of 86. He passed away on the same day as John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.
A few good things about the senator. Some fondly recalled how the senator would invite pages to sit down and have a chat over ice cream. This would inevitably leave a lasting impression on the young excited minds. Jesse Helms served in Vietnam.

Hollywood is mourning the loss of this lovely and elegant actor from the yesteryears, Cyd Charisse.
Cyd was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on June 16, 2008 after suffering an apparent heart attack. She died the following day, aged 86.
Her career spanned seven decades and included a stint with the Ballets Russes. Charisse wrote a joint biography with Martin (and Dick Kleiner) called The Two of Us in 1976.
The audience loved her the most when she played her part opposite Fred Astaire and Gene Kelly.
