Actress and former child star Amanda Bynes, 24, says she is retiring from acting, according to her Twitter posts.Â
Bynes was 10 years old when she started on the Nickelodeon show “All That.â€Â She then got her own series, “The Amanda Show.â€
Bynes made her announcement about quitting acting on Saturday via Twitter (read her recent posts below).
“Being an actress isn’t as fun as it may seem,” Bynes “tweeted.” “If I don’t love something anymore, I stop doing it. I don’t love acting anymore, so I’ve stopped doing it.”
“I’ve never written the movies & tv shows I’ve been a part of. I’ve only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play.”
Aside from her Nickelodeon shows, Bynes starred as a teenager on the TV show “What I Like About You” with Jennie Garth. She has also starred in such movies as “What A Girl Wants” and “Hairspray.”Â
Bynes hasn’t said what her future plans are, but she will make her final big-screen appearance this September in the high-school comedy, “Easy A.â€
