Rima Fakih Pole Dancing Pictures To Cost New Miss USA 2010 Her Crown?

On Sunday evening, Miss Michigan USA Rima Fakih was crowned Miss USA 2010 in Las Vegas — and the Fox News immediately started hammering the affair with insinuations that Miss Oklahoma Morgan Elizabeth Woolard, the first runner-up, was slighted because of her pro-Arizona immigration stance in her answer in the interview section of the pageant.  But hints that an Arab-American immigrant (Rima Fakih was born in Lebanon) was less deserving of the Miss USA 2010 crown became subtext for another scandal-in-the-making — pictures of the newly crowned Rima Fakih in a 2007 pole dancing “stripper” competition.  And with the pictures scandal comes the inevitable question: Will Rima Fakih be stripped of her Miss USA 2010 crown?

The pole dancing pictures are everywhere, partially thanks to TMZ, which gave them national exposure Monday.  But it was the Detroit radio program “Mojo In The Morning” that first posted the pictures.  In fact, “Mojo In The Morning” sponsored the “Stripper 101” pole dancing competition back in 2007.  Rima Fakih was so good at dancing around the stripper pole that she won one of her own, which was part of the prize package that included jewelry, gift cards, and adult toys.  The posted pictures show Rima Fakih in various poses, dancing around the pole, dressed in red shorts and a light blue top.

Rima Fakih was apparently impressive.  She beat out the other girls in the pole dancing competition without taking off any of her clothes to take home the “Stripper 101” championship.  She made a little money in the traditional pole dancing method as well — one picture depicts the smiling Dearborn, Michigan resident with a slew of bills protruding from her bra.

But are the pole dancing pictures enough to disqualify Rima Fakih as Miss USA 2010?

The New York Daily News reported Monday that, according to producers of the radio program “Mojo In The Morning,” they have been approached by the Miss Universe Organization and asked to provide additional pictures and information about Rima Fakih’s participation in the “Stripper 101” competition.  The Daily News was unable to corroborate the statements with the Miss Universe Organization.

Still, are the three-year-old pictures enough for Rima Fakih to be stripped of her crown?

Mojo of “Mojo in the Morning” notes: “It would be foolish to consider anyone other than Rima to represent the USA.  The photos taken from our Web site are no more provocative than those on the Miss USA Web site.”

Those photos, which showed all 51 Miss USA 2010 contestants in sexy lingerie, sparked a scandal leading into the pageant.  Although the Miss Universe Organization had no problem with the black-and-white lingerie pictures, it is unclear what they might decide with regard to the pole dancing pictures.

In the meantime, Rima Fakih remains Miss USA 2010 in addition to being the 2007 “Stripper 101” pole dancing champion.
