Al Davis Press Conference

Recapping Today’s Al Davis Press Conference

The Raiders’ dictator cum generalissimo for life Al Davis condescend to speak to his ‘despised’ rivals in the press corps today regarding his firing of Oakland Raiders head coach Lane Kiffin.

Here is what was going through my mind during the interview:

Paranoia; recrimination; accusation; passive-aggresivity; back-biting; name-calling; naked hatred; accusation; nepotism; futility; victim hood; crony-boosting; flailing; breast-beating; paranoia; contradictory bluster; ennui.

When I saw it, I was like wow, is this guy for real.

Al Davis is 79 years old and time is running out for him. The static issue crucifying the Raider organization is that Davis Is THE Raider organization, and the conclusions he has made to try to create continuation of his will have directly resulted in the catastrophic state of the franchise/brand today.

I am searching for the Youtube video or any other clip of this Press Conference but I guess its too early for anybody to have uploaded so soon.

Found the video finally and here it is. Enjoy!

Tim Hasselbeck

From all over the internet, reports are pouring in that Elizabeth Hasselbeck is totally upset with her co hosts on the popular show View. The charged political scenario is driving her nuts and she is seriously considering quitting the show.

From what I have made out, she is politically inclined towards the Republican agenda and is sort of a minority in her group at the View where other ladies hold Democratic view of life.

Maria Sharapova Charlie Ebersol

I had wanted to call the topic – With Russia From Love – but it was too long to fit in my scheme of things.

Dope has it that high ranked Tennis star from Russia Maria Sharapova found a new boyfriend, charlie Ebersol. Charlie is the son of NBC Sports & Olympics chairman Dick Ebersol. Quite a catch there some would say but then Maria is no less herself. One big business magazine (Forbes to be specific) had rated her as the highest paid athlete.

Ebersol, is a plane crash survivor and also the creative brains behind Saturday Night Live.

Journalist Dead

In the wee hours of Tuesday Soumya Viswanathan, an employee of TV Today Network’s English news channel Headlines Today, was found dead in her car in Nelson Mandela Road in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. Her car was rammed into the road divider. She was taken to AIIMS where she was declared brought dead. Doctors found a bullet in her temple. The police had found a bullet in the front tyre and say that a personal enmity could be a cause and have filed a case of murder. The visuals of the crime scene being aired on television do not show any damage to the car. It is believed that the car must have been stopped first or at least slowed down before shooting Soumya.

When things like this happen it seems that today we are so overtaken by our primeval animal instincts that taking someone’s life has become a mere game to us. None of us are safe any more. And situations like these cannot be even prevented by the law. How are we to trust people is actually the big question here. It is so difficult to decipher the contorted mind of men.

Terrell Owens Controversy

What is the latest Terrell Owens controversy.

The latest news on the Terrell Owens is that the Dallas Cowboys’ Wide Receiver claims to have ready-made jokes about Jessica Simpson distracting QB Tony Romo.

After his latest game, TO comments generated media to go in a tizzy. He was asked if the ball was thrown enough. This is what Terrell had to say

I would say no. I’m a competitor, and I want the ball. Everybody recognized that I wasn’t really getting the ball in the first half. I’m pretty sure everybody watching the game recognized it, people in the stands recognized it. I think my team recognized it. I didn’t quit. I kept fighting and trying to keep running my routes and trying to get open.

Terrell Owens ought to zip it up for his teams sake. Thats now how team sports are played, by washing their dirty linen in public.

ICICI Bankrupt

There are all sorts of rumors flying around saying that ICICI bank is going to close down. Some have even heard rumors to the extent saying the bank is going to file for bankruptcy.

Well, I can only laugh at these rumors.

Nothing is going to happen to the Bank. Indian banking laws are so strict that every bank has enough fiscal regulations to protect them in case of such downturn.

Sure world over there is an economic crisis and in New York many financial giants are tumbling down. But there is a difference in the way American banks conduct vs the way Indian banks do business.

So don’t worry. If you are an ICICI bank customer, your money is not going anywhere.

Just so that you know here we are talking about photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt (some have been misspelling him as Eisenstadt as well).
