Tallan Latz - The Blues Prodigy

Tallan Latz is getting so popular that the media has already dubbed a middle name for him - Tallan ‘T-Man’ Latz!

Tallan Lantz is an 8 year old blues guitar prodigy and he is all set to perform (in fact he has already been performing) on on the music circuit, including bars, pubs, and not to forget Chicago’s famous House of Blues.

Heck he has even jammed with Les Paul and Jackson Browne.

But because of archaic laws, the State of Wisconsin says that Tallan Latz (sometimes fans mistake his last name to be Lantz), cannot play in night clubs and taverns because of child labor laws.

Makes sense to me, there are many other places where this prodigy’s music can be heard and enjoyed. Its quite a dilemma, worthy of its own debate and deliberation, to whether allow or disallow under age musicians from performing in such places.

But Tallan is in news because his father is now trying to change the law so that his son can perform in such places. As for the Tallan, he remarked in a manner befitting greek philosophers, that the problems he’s had trying to play legally will make him a better blues artist.

One can’t help but concur on this.

Check out a performance of Tallan Latz playing his blues from here.

Isaac Hayes Dead

Isaac Hayes death has been confirmed. Isaac Hayes was a popular songwriter who won both, Grammy and Academy awards for the theme to the 1971 pulp fiction and action movie - Shaft.

He died in Memphis, TN and was 65 years old.

Isaac Hayes was found unconscious by family members next to a tread mill in his basement at about noon time.

I have heard reports that he died of of a stroke.

Some of the popular songs Isaac Hayes co-wrote were - Soul Man, You don’t know like I know etc. and Shaft won him the Oscar for best musical score. In fact it was a double whammy for his as it won him the Grammy as well.

Isaac Hayes’s influence on music was immense and Isaac was truly a great American.

Do you guys remember him and his work?
