FHA Replacement Loan

FHA loans are once again getting popular in the mainstream. Although  it’s an institution that has been around for a long time, since June 27, 1934, its stock keeps moving in highs and lows. The Department of Housing & Urban Development folded the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) under its umbrella in 1965.

FHA loans began to lose favor in the late 1990s, when home values began to inch upwards, surpassing FHA mortgage limits, and sellers balked at FHA’s stringent appraisal guidelines.

WaMu Fails. Sold Off To JP Morgan

Read some absolutely shocking news in the Wall Street Journal today. WaMu Is Seized, Sold Off to J.P. Morgan, In Largest Failure in U.S. Banking History.

US Banking History. Imagine this. US is not only floudering, but sinking to unknown depths. Everyday there is some or the other bombshell.

The collapse of the Seattle thrift, which was triggered by a wave of deposit withdrawals, marks a new low point in the country’s financial crisis. But the deal, as constructed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp., could hold some glimmers of hope for the beleaguered banking system because it averts any hit to the bank-insurance fund.

Instead, J.P. Morgan agreed to pay $1.9 billion to the government for WaMu’s banking operations and will assume the loan portfolio of the thrift, which has $307 billion in assets. The full cost to J.P. Morgan will be much higher, because it plans to write down about $31 billion of the bad loans and raise $8 billion in new capital. All WaMu depositors will have access to their cash, but holders of more than $30 billion in debt and preferred stock will likely see little if any recovery.

Perhaps the after effects and real damage will be known only in the coming days. What this incident will trigger will only be seen in the coming days but the prospects look dark ahead.

Mexico’s main Supreme Court has recently ruled that Wal-Mart de Mexico, also known as Walmex, which is nothing but Wal Mart in Mexico violated the country’s constitution by paying workers, in part, in vouchers that are only redeemable at the store. Walmex is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Wal-Mart Stores Inc.

These vouchers are nothing but Gift cards that we buy here in US and present as gifts to our families and friends.

How Cuil Stocks Against Google

Having missed the Google stock options and their easy shot at being a millionaire, there is already frantic activity to find out about Cuil Stocks and you cannot blame people for that. The idea of getting rich gets people excited like no other idea.

So today when I read about Cuil on the front page of Google news, I could hardly believe that was being touted in favor of Cuil - that its the world’s largest search engine.

I promptly opened the website and did the first thing I do in all the search engines - search for Techbanyan and see what kind of results was I getting.

Boy, was I disappointed. There was nothing from this website in their indexing database. So next I did what ever webmaster worth his/her salt would do, try to submit the website URL for Cuil indexing.
