Google India wants to recognize and celebrate women of India in Computer Sciences and related fields. Google thinks Indian women deserve a pat for solving complex engineering problems, doing work that makes an impact, collaborating with smart people, for challenging conventions, and above all for taking risks. What sweetens the whole deal is that the recognition comes along with a cheque for INR 75000 ($1875).
Google says it aspires to be an organization that reflects the globally diverse audience that its search engine and tools serve.
Eligible candidates must be full-time students from recognized institutions with specialization in Computers or related subject. They have to be top scorers and demonstrable leadership experience would help tilt the balance in your favor. First year students are ineligible.
If the above sounds like you or somebody you know, have them sign up the application from here - Google India Women In Engineering Award. Registration closes down at the end of this month (Jan 31, 2008).
