Could Rod Blagojevich stage a political comeback in the wake of his corruption trials? We all know that Blago’s accused of trying to sell Barack Obama’s Senate seat after he was elected president.  Of course, to this day Blago denies all claims, and has become the butt of many political jokes…many of them ending with a plug about his hair.

The jury was hung on whether or not to find Blago guilty of all charges.  They found him guilty of one charge, and could not reach a consensus on the rest of the charges.  The government has vowed to re-try Blago.

Many expect him to be found guilty, but the former Illinois governor may have other plans.  Blago claims he won’t rule out a political come back once exonerated of the corruption charges.

He also claims that he really didn’t have a defense during the first trial. After he is re-tried, he is pretty confident he will be exonerated. He’s been doing a media blitz in recent days…I would stay tuned to the news to see what transpires on planet Blago.

Obama has no regrets about Mosque remarks. The 9/11 ground zero mosque debate has continued, and the center of the debate is on comments made by President Obama.  During a speech, he said that the group that desires to build the Mosque near ground zero has every right to do so.

Okay, I agree..they have the right, but that doesn’t make it the right thing to do.  Constitutionally, there is a separation of Church and State. The State cannot rule on if the mosque can be built in that particular location. However, out of respect for the families of those lost during the 9/11 attacks, the group should at minimum consider other venues for their building.

Despite massive opposition, Obama has “no regrets” about his comments, despite Gallup polls that indicate that in general, the American public wishes that the President hadn’t made the comment that they have the right to build the mosque in that location.

The New York Daily News reports A new Gallup Poll that found 37% of Americans disapprove of Obama’s comments supporting Muslims’ right to build the mosque and only 20% approve.

However, the President shouldn’t express regret – then that would make him look indecisive.

Obama declares Gulf beaches safe after his family vacation to the Florida panhandle.  The Gulf Beaches are the subject of a lot of apprehension after the oil spill.  Many fear that the white sugar sand beaches are somehow contaminated by toxic oil from the deepwater horizon oil spill, but that is not the case – according to the commander in chief.

Obama’s family vacation has been seen as a political move, the administration’s way of keeping the American public from being “overly concerned” about how the spill affected the Gulf.  This tourist season has been rough, as travelers have found other places to go, citing fears of not being able to go to the beach.

The Obama family has been criticized for their vacationing plans – which included Spain (First lady), Martha’s Vineyard, Maine, and North Carolina.  The  White House only recently added the Gulf Coast after much criticism.

Now that Obama has declared the Gulf beaches safe…are you going to go out? Next summer, I would love to take my son to Panama Beach to let him splash around in the water.

First Lady’s Spanish vacation angers many, and Michelle Obama has actually been dubbed the modern-day Marie Antoinette by some journalists.  People are balking at the fact that Michelle is able to travel in style, with all the accoutrements of luxury while nearly 40 million Americans are on food stamps.

Michelle and her 9 year old daughter Sasha are staying at  Ritz-Carlton hotel dubbed one of the world’s 10 best hotels, the Villa Padierna.  The rates run from a few hundred dollars a night up to $2,500 per night, although it’s not announced which rate Obama had to pay.  It’s also not certain whether Michelle Obama chose the hotel herself, or if security via the Secret Service made the call.

Although Michelle will undoubtedly pay her personal expenses, taxpayers are still footing the bill on her chartered air force plane and her 24/7 staff and security.  This is an unnecessary cost for an unofficial trip.

The First Lady’s Spanish vacation came at the same time as her husband’s 49^th birthday.  She was not with the President, who was not only disappointed in the absence of his family but also the absence of a birthday cake.

Obama’s birthday cake was absent from his 49^th birthday celebration, raising the question as to what good a birthday is with no cake. It’s not that the cake was forgotten, it’s that the Secret Service blocked it for “Security Reasons.”

Unions were supposed to give the Commander in chief a celebration, complete with a delicious treat.  Obama expressed his disappointment, and joked that the Secret Service was likely eating it at that very minute.

Sad.  A birthday without a cake is like…a car without gas, it just doesn’t run.  However, when it comes to safety, I guess you can’t ever be too secure – especially when the President of the United States is at risk.

Not only did Barack not have a cake, he didn’t have a family, either.  Sasha and Michelle are in Spain and Mailia is at sleepaway camp.  Everyone did call him, though and as the Press Secretary Robert Gibbs announced, those phone calls were the highlight of his big day.

Shaq sings to Justin Bieber? Kind of a weird thought, don’t you think? It’s not every day an NBA star sings to someone likeJustin Bieber still, it’s true.  On the show Shaq vs… he will feature Justin Bieber.

Bieber’s been busy.  When Twitter rumors have him smoking weed, and he’s also paying visits to Rob Dyrdek and his smokin hot rapping receptionist/Maxim model Chanel – he’s getting sang to by athletes.  Must be nice to be him! Not only has he rubbed elbows with athletes, but he’s also met Obama, sang at the Olympics, and is loved by almost every tween from the US and Canada.

The Madden 11 release date and demo are important for serious gamers who want this year’s NFL update. The demo wasmade available to the masses, and instead of the typical 2-5 minutes of playtime, this year those who download the Madden 11 demo will discover that they will get 20 minutes of playtime via four 5-minute quarters. This gives users more of an idea of what the full-length game will be.

My friend joked that the only problem with the demo is that you can only choose between being the Colts or the Jets. All jokes aside, the shorter version of the game showcased crisp graphics that look so real it’s almost not even believable. I grew up on video games like Mario Brothers and Kirby, so watching games like Madden 11 really amazes me how much the gaming industry has improved over the last 15 years or so.

One thing that had many chattering about the Madden 11 video game is that it even features President Obama. Our president pops up everywhere, from The View and now in games…it’s kind of cool, actually. The game will showcase a little bit of history.

Perhaps the best thing about this version of EA Sports’ popular game is the new “Game Flow” system, which doesn’t overwhelm you with the entire playbook every down. Instead, the game is set up to give you recommendations based on your current situation. This is particularly great for people who may not be football experts but still want to play the game. In addition, it cuts the game time down in half…or at least that’s what the claims are saying. Getting through the game quicker will help people from getting a little bored.

The release date for the full Madden 11 will be August 10 in the US and August 13 in Europe. Both XBox 360 and PS3 versions will be available for purchase at that time.

Of course you will be able to find the game at retailers such as GameStop, and online.

What does GTL mean? After all, it’s now the season premiere of MTV’s hit reality show Jersey Shore and it seems as if the cast speaks another language.  Besides the Italian Jersey accents, they have a lot of slang that makes some people who haven’t followed the show scratch their heads.

Well fear no more! GTL stands for Gym, Tan, and Laundry.  Those, I presume, are three things that are important for any Jersey Shore cast member.

Although I am not so sure why they want to tan. They are on Miami Beach, so they will get plenty of sun just being outside. Heading to the gym seems futile too, as they could just run up and down the beach.

A funny thing happened on The View today.  When asked if Snooki should run for mayor of Wasilla, Obama looked confused and stated he didn’t even know who Snooki was.  Well, CNN called him out on it, as he made reference to the Jersey Shore cast member in his speech about health care reform.

Side note – someone writes Obama’s speeches for him. Just because he said it, doesn’t mean he came up with it himself. Like the man has time to watch Jersey Shore? He’s got two wars, millions of angry unemployed workers, and millions of gallons of crude to clean up out of the ocean.

Now that we wandered off the subject, I will bring you back to the point: In Jersey Shore speak, GTL means Gym, Tan, and Laundry. It’s late….so now I am going to GTS (Go To Sleep)

The National Enquirer has been down this road before.  But this time their allegations aren’t about a former senator or a famous golfer, it is about President Barack Obama.  Still, the tabloid claims to have sources that say that President Barack Obama had an affair with political fundraiser Vera Baker, a woman who helped get him elected as the junior senator from Illinois.  The National Enquirer reported Friday that their sources can put then Senator Obama and Vera Baker in the same Washington, D. C. hotel together.   There also seems to be footage from a video surveillance camera at the hotel that can place the two at the hotel at the same time…

Now everyone wants to see what Vera Baker looks like, hence the search for her photo.

The National Enquirer is claiming that top anti-Obama operatives are offering $1 million for witnesses to come forward with information, photos, anything about the alleged affair.   A source told the National Enquirer that a limo driver had come forward, insisted on remaining anonymous, and said that he had driven Obama and Vera Baker to several locations in Washington, D. C., as they campaigned for funds.  He said he later dropped the two off at the hotel where Obama was staying. 

“My services for the evening were done – and there was no indication she was going to leave the hotel that night.”

Supposedly, the limo driver’s story has been corroborated by independent witnesses.

The article goes on to say that the National Enquirer has learned that a video surveillance camera ”could provide indisputable evidence” that the two were at the hotel together. 

But does any of it prove anything?   As circumstantial evidence, it does not.  Insinuations made by a limo driver that were relayed by a source does not make for the most reliable stories.  Nor does the fact that a politician and a political fund raiser were at the same hotel together and might actually appear on a video tape together mean anything.  It certainly doesn’t spell out “sex scandal.”

However, even with such ambiguous information, the hint of a sex scandal can be damaging to the president.  And deniability only goes so far, especially if the National Enquirer actually has unequivocal evidence or proof that an actual affair was taking place.  The last time such allegations were made, former North Carolina senator and Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards denied them until he was caught in a Beverly Hills hotel where his mistress, Rielle Hunter, was staying at the time. 

Could this be such a scandal?  Or is the Vera Baker / presidential mistress story simply a set of circumstances either composed by the president’s political opponents or extrapolation by the tabloid in order to get a good story? 

This isn’t the first time allegations have been made that the President was having an affair with Vera Baker.  The accusations have haunted Obama from the Senate to the presidency.  The allegations at present have remained too vague to count as actual proof of an affair.  However, the power of insinuation can ignite a powerful sex scandal and sometimes be as effective as photos and  

And people will say just about anything for $1 million.

The 2010 “Kids’ Choice Awards” were held on Saturday night in Los Angeles, with host Kevin James bringing fun and slime to an audience of kids (and those watching on Nickelodeon from home) to honor their favorite movies, stars, athletes, and more.
