Chile releases video of trapped miners.  There are 33 miners trapped in Chile, and they may not be able to be rescued until around Christmastime.  Luckily, people are able to get them food and supplies and are able to communicate with them.

The released video of the trapped miners shows that they are tired, but in good spirits.  During trying times like this it’s important to keep a positive attitude to avoid falling victim to the negative things that can happen.

The miners haven’t been told about how long it could take to get them out of there, as it is very possible that the psychological effects of the news would be a devastating blow to their minds.  Three or four of the miners are showing signs of anxiety and depression.

At least 9 of the miners are still too big to fit through the proposed rescue shaft. However, the men are losing weight while they wait down in the mine.  Their only lifeline is a pipe with about a 3.5 inch diameter, through which food, clothing, and anything needed is stuffed.

This is such a horrible thing that has happened, and I really hope that they are able to rescue these trapped miners.

Tax Lady Ronnie Deutsch (Roni Deutch) is a popular installation on late night and daytime cable TV.  Her loud, boisterous voice promises to get you the IRS settlement you “deserve.” However, her promises are false and the state of California is moving against her.

“Tax Lady Roni Deutch is engaged in a heartless scheme that swindled people with tax problems. She promises to significantly reduce their IRS tax debts, but instead preys on their vulnerability, taking large up-front payments but providing little or no help in lowering their tax bills,” says California’s Attorney General Jerry Brown.

Bottom line: if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.  Working with the IRS is somewhat ambiguous and no professional will promise you anything but that they will TRY to bring you the best outcome possible.

Remember, two things in life are certain: death and taxes. Pay your taxes and you won’t have to worry about being taken for a ride by people like Roni Deutch.

Can’t wait for Conan O’Brien to return to TV?  Coco releasing recordings with Jack White. For those that don’t know, Coco isO’Brien’s nickname.  Conan O’Brien recently lost his slot as the “Tonight Show” host to Jay Leno, who had the show before him – but left for his own show.

Well now, part of the comedian’s “Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on TV” tour is on buddy Jack White’s “Live at Third Man” via White’s record label. It also features a duet with White, which is a cover of Eddie Cochran’s “20 Flight Rock

We all know that O’Brien is one of the funniest people in entertainment, and perhaps my favorite part of the whole rock star thing was the way that he fixed his hair in this photo. It’s hilarious.

The collaboration will be available on August 24th via White’s own record label, Third Man Records.

“Whoa!” Detroit radio DJ Shannon Murphy had a dream-filled day as she co-hosted “Live! With Regis and Kelly” and got a kiss — and that fore-mentioned catchphrase — from actor/former teen idol Joey Lawrence on Tuesday morning.

Murphy, of Detroit’s 95.5 FM Mojo In The Morning Show, won the opportunity to co-host with Regis Philbin after a nationwide contest: Women In Radio Co-Host For A Day Search. She was one of four female radio personalities who got the gig while regular co-host Kelly Ripa is off this week.  The other winners (Jayde Donovan of XL 106.7 FM in Orlando, Kristin Cruz of KOST 103.5 FM in Los Angeles, and Jenn Hobby of Q100 in Atlanta) will co-host Wednesday through Friday.

A very cheerful Murphy represented Detroit and Michigan in a positive light, and even presented Regis with a Detroit Tigers baseball jersey with “Regis” and “955” on the back (for her radio station 95.5 FM with Mojo In The Morning).  It was also perfect timing as the Detroit Tigers beat the New York Yankees the night before in a nail-biting game.

Guests on “Live! With Regis and Kelly” for Tuesday were actress Emma Thompson, “So You Think You Can Dance” winner Lauren Froderman, and of course heart throb Joey Lawrence. 

When it came time to interview Lawrence, Murphy mentioned she had a little crush on him growing up (which, as a fan of Joey Lawrence myself, I was glad she was there to represent fans watching from home).  She had a poster of the “Blossom” star in her bedroom, which she said she used to use to practice kissing.

And Murphy, who was warned by her Mojo In The Morning colleagues (Mojo, Spike) not to do so, brought up Lawrence’s infamous “Whoa!” catchphrase as Joey Russo on “Blossom.”  As a fan, I was happy she brought  it up because then Lawrence briefly explained how the catchphrase got started (originally supposed to be in “surfer” style).

They also talked about “Melissa and Joey,” Lawrence’s new sitcom with Melissa Joan Hart for ABC Family. The two previously starred together in the ABC Family movie “My Fake Fiance” (so obviously the network and producers saw the great on-screen chemistry that I saw with Lawrence and Hart have in the movie, and created a TV show.)

So back to the interview, Philbin asked Lawrence if he would give Murphy a real kiss (as opposed to the poster of him she used to kiss), in which they agreed to kiss on the cheek (Lawrence is a married father of two, and Murphy’s boyfriend was in the audience). But after the kiss, the real treat was Lawrence yelling out “Whoa!” which fans, and hopefully Murphy, were very grateful for (most stars do not want to recite their catchphrases over and over).

So Joey Lawrence, thanks for humoring your fans with your catchphrase!  And Shannon Murphy, thanks for letting us live vicariously through you! Co-hosting with Regis Philbin on national TV and a kiss and a “Whoa!” from Joey Lawrence … not bad for a day’s work!  “Whoa!”

Reality show celebrity Tila Tequila made headlines (again) after being attacked at a concert event in Illinois that highlights horrorcore rap icons Insane Clown Posse.  At the 11th Annual Gathering of the Juggalos, Tila Tequila told TMZ that the fans were “trying to kill” her.  And unlike some of her more histrionic attempts to grab media attention, this time she has the Sheriff of Hardin County (where the Gathering of the Juggalos took place) to back her up (to some extent).

Tila Tequila, famous for her over-the-top drama and non-stop Twitter postings, told TMZ Saturday how she had not even made it to the stage (she had been invited to appear as part of “Ladies Night” with Lil Kim) when she was attacked with rocks, bottles, and even human feces from the nearby port-o-potties.  TMZ posted photos of Tequila taken in the aftermath of the attack that showed her with a cut face, abrasions to her side and stomach, and brusing on her legs.

Hardin County Sheriff Tom Seiner said “things got out of hand” at the annual event.  Police had responded to calls of a stabbing and when they arrived, the crowd began to yell obscenities at them as they attempted to make an arrest and get the injured individual to safety.  He told a local television station, WSIL TV, that concert security had to guard the police vehicles while law enforcement went into the campgrounds to get control of the situation.  The victim was taken to a nearby hospital (and was later listed in stable condition).  The perpetrator was a 49-year-old man from Georgia.  He was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a weapon.

Police were at the scene when the crowd turned on Tila Tequila.  According to her, she and her bodyguard and a couple of members of security quickly barricaded themselves in a trailor, which was immediately attacked by the incensed Juggalos. The men grabbed a table and chairs and covered broken windows, desperately trying to keep the mob away.

It is unknown how Tila Tequila and her escorts got away.  She told TMZ that she got stitches at an Illinois hospital before returning to Los Angeles and making a second trip to the doctor’s at Cedars-Sinai.

Seiner would not comment on the details of what occurred, noting that it was an ongoing investigation.

Sheriff Tom Seiner said the Gathering of the Juggalos is a “nightmare” and that the event gets rowdier and more violent each year.  He told TMZ he would rather it not return for a 12th season.

Despite the violence at this year’s event, members of the so-called “Juggalos,” followers of the horrorcore rap duo Insane Clown Posse and Psychopathic Records artists (horrorcore genre) in general, claim that they are predominantly peaceful.  They maintain that, despite openly aggressive, gory, and violent lyrics, “the family” is about support and the music is about catharsis.

Be that as it may, the “peaceful” Juggalos are considered a gang in the states of Arizona and Utah and several other legal jurisdictions throughout the United States.  In the state of Wisconsin, their Justice Department lists Insane Clown Posse itself as a security threat.

Tila Tequila told TMZ Sunday that she was going to sue the promoters of the Gathering of the Juggalos.  It looks as if she might have a case.

The “Teen Choice Awards 2010″ may not air on Fox until Monday (tonight), but the surfboard awards were given out last night in Hollywood.  Find out who won below.

The X Games 2010 are taking place in Los Angeles July 29 through August 1 and it’s going to be a major event.  X Games 16 is in full swing, and those who love extreme sports are very excited about this year’s events. The Coliseum is the birthplace of supercross, and is also the landscape for the tournament for the past 7 consecutive years.

X Games 15 boasted higher ratings than ever last year, and as such coverage on ESPN of X Games 2010/16 is now expanded. Now, there will be about 10 hours of coverage as opposed to just a few in years prior.

Today, the X games will have plenty of skateboarding, BMX, and extreme sport action.  This of course is very exciting.  Coverage of the games will be on ESPN, and you can always head online to view updates if you are unable to watch TV or if your event isn’t covered.
