Sylvester Stallone gets injured during filming for his upcoming movie, “The Expendables.” According to reports SylvesterÂ Stallone,63, sustained a neck injury. Stallone’s injury is said to be serious.Â
What was the macho man doing when he got injured? He was shooting a fighting scene with Steve Austin.Â A fracture has been detected and Stallone has to have surgery on his neck as a result of the injury.
What does Stallone say about his injury? According to Times Live, he stated â€œActually, my fight with Stone Cold Steve Austin was so vicious that I ended up getting a hairline fracture in my neck. Iâ€™m not joking. I havenâ€™t told anyone this, but I had to have a very serious operation afterwards. I now have a metal plate in my neck.”
This isn’t the actor’s first serious injury sustained while filming. In 1985 he was filming a boxing movie and almost died as a result of punches to his head and chest.
Stallone recalled the injury, which took place with Dolph Lundgren. He said “That night my chest and heart started to swell, and I had to be helicopter-ambulanced from my hotel to a nearby emergency room. I was told that Dolph had punched my rib cage into my chest, compressing my heart. If it had swollen any more, I would have died.”
Luckily, Stallone is still alive.
You have to give it to him – he’s a tough man. Anyone that can put out these types of movies, get injured in the process, and still trek on years later is a true actor.
