The cause of death for Casey Johnson, a Johnson & Johnson heiress and apparent fiancee of reality star Tila Tequila, could take several weeks, according to authorities.
Johnson, 30, was found dead in her Los Angeles home on Monday, according to police. Police said their preliminary investigation found nothing to suggest that her death was anything other than natural causes, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Police told TMZ that they believe she had been dead for several days.
An autopsy was expected to be performed on Tuesday or Wednesday, but the announcement on her cause of death could take four to six weeks pending toxicology tests, said Ed Winter, a representative for the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
Winter said his office had learned that Johnson had a history of diabetes, but added, “We are still conducting our investigation,†the Los Angeles Times reported.
TMZ reported that Johnson fell into a diabetic coma twice and had to be hospitalized, according to law enforcement officials. The web site said Johnson had a history of diabetes and insulin syringes were found in her home after she died.
Johnson reportedly also had a history of drug use and was in rehab several times.
