Artie Lange, a comedian and on-air sidekick of Howard Stern, has been hospitalized.
“We can confirm that Artie is in the hospital,” a representative for Lange told Entertainment Tonight. “Artie has chosen to keep all information on this matter between him and his doctor. There will be no further comment.”
Lange was reportedly absent from Stern’s satellite radio show a few days before the holiday break. The show is scheduled to return live to Sirius-XM radio on Monday.
Lange was also an original cast member of “Mad TV†on Fox, and had a role on Norm MacDonald’s sitcom, “Norm.â€Â MacDonald brought Lange with him to Stern’s studio in 1998. Lange made such an impression during his first appearance on the program that he was asked in 2001 to become a full-time member of the cast, according to the Howard Stern Show’s web site.
