George Michael Sportscaster: Sports Machine Sportscaster Dies

George Michael Sportscaster: George Micheal from Sports Machine has died.  His popular Show “George Michael Sports Machine” has been seen in syndication from 1980 until 2007.  He’s also served on the NBC Sports desk.

George Michael was 70 years old at the time of his death.  As with Brittany Murphy, Christmas time deaths are absolutely the worst. He died of complications of chronic lymphocytic leukemia at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington.

He was a long time fixture in Washington, but reached national recognition.

According to NBC4

“George Michael was our friend and colleague for more than 25 years. He was a dynamic force around our newsroom and in the entire Washington area. George was a pioneer in sports broadcasting. He was a gifted interviewer, a master storyteller and one of the hardest working journalists out there. Our hearts go out to his wife, Pat, and his daughter, Michelle, both of whom also worked with us for many years, as well as the rest of his family.”

Lets all think of George Michael’s family at this sad time.
