Country singer Carrie Underwood became engaged to NHL player Mike Fisher over the weekend.

Fisher told The Ottawa Sun on Sunday that “we’re obviously very happy.” A representative for Underwood confirmed the engagement on Monday to USA Today and said the “couple couldn’t be happier.”
A wedding date has not yet been set.
Underwood, 26, won the fourth season of “American Idol” and has since gone on to a very successful music career. Fisher, 29, plays hockey with the Ottawa Senators. The couple reportedly met in March 2008 at a concert Underwood performed in Ottawa.
