A Duggar baby update is desired in the wake of a premature birth. A Duggar baby update is also desired because Michelle Duggar is said to have experienced a life-threatening condition that lead to the premature birth of her 19thchild, Josie Brooklyn. Little Josie was born at 25 weeks gestation at 1 pound 6 ounces. It is said that both Michelle and Baby Duggar are in stable condition.
Much confusion exists over why the Duggar baby was born early. At first, it had been announced that Michelle Duggar was air-lifted to the University of Arkansas Medical Center in Little Rock because of gall stones. Before everyone knew it, Michelle Duggar gave birth to baby Duggar 15 weeks early.
However, it was then announced that Baby Duggar was born early because of a condition called pre-eclampsia. Pre-eclampsia is a life-threatening condition that is present in 5-8% of pregnancies.
Symptoms of pre-eclampsia are headaches, swelling, changes in vision, a rise in blood pressure and protein in the urine. If you experience any of these symptoms while pregnant, have your partner take you to your OBGYN ASAP, or at least call their office.  Screening for pre-eclampsia is also done during routine prenatal care, which is one reason why it is so important to follow your doctor’s orders while pregnant and go to each and every visit – even if you feel fine.
Michelle and Baby Duggar are doing fine. Duggar baby updates will be warranted for a couple of months, as little Josie Brooklyn has a long way to go before she can be released from the hospital. Let’s all wish the Duggar family well.
