Sachin Tendulkar Sets a Record in ODIs

Although there wasn’t victory for India in its Fifth ODI against Australia, Indians are celebrating Little Master’s record of 17,000 runs in the ODI which is a milestone that none has reached.

Australia is leading the series at the rate of 3-2 and there are two matches left to play. The fifth ODI at Hyderabad saw Sachin Tendulkar score a mind blowing 175 runs off just 141 deliveries.

When the 36 year old world class batsman went into the match, he only needed 7 runs to set the record. He put up a great show lasting till the first ball of the 48th over where he fell victim to the catch by Nathan Hauritz off seamer Clint McKay. India had to get 19 balls of 17 runs to win the match at this juncture.

The match was the maestro’s 435th ODI and he also set a record of scoring 45 centuries. Like a Olympic flame, this player performs better with each passing match. Lets hope he casts his magic time and again to add to the pride of Indians.
