Susan Shalhoub Larkin is a crowd favorite Atlanta actress who, quite recently appeared in a theatrical Outfit’s production of “To Kill A Mockingbird.”
Most of us acknowledge this is one of the best books to come out of not only southern US but in fact does the whole country proud. (I am a southerner by heart so my bias is apparent heh heh).
Susan is also the sister of the famed Monk hero Tony Shalhoub, who is the star and executive producer of USA-Network’s award-winning television series Monk.
Seems like for most of the actors, there their big break comes when they themselves finance their show, either part of it or completely.
The reason I say this is because the other day I was watching Van Wilder – Taj movie starring Kal Penn and this actor, in my opinion, did not do justice to the role. Van Wilder movies are loud, brash, whacky comedies and Kal Penn looked too sober and staid for the role.
It had me wondering what favors did the actor curry to get the role.
The mystery was settled when at the end of the movie the credits started rolling, and bang right over there he was citied as one of the executive producers. There you go.
