More than 111 people are confirmed dead after a massive earthquake yesterday, followed by three separate Tsunami waves in the Somoa Islands; the largest wave measured 5.1 feet above sea level. Several villages have been destroyed, houses flattened, and power and telephone lines are down on the two main islands that have 220,000 residents.
An additional Tsunami Warning was cancelled this morning, and for now, no additional damage is expected. The massive earthquake struck yesterday morning at about 6:30 am at about 120 miles off shore. This earthquake was about 10 times the size of the San Francisco earthquake in 1989.
