The Open Championship is back to Lancashire Course at the Royal Birkdale Golf Club from Thursday 17th to Sunday 20th July 2008.

Guess how many times the championship has been held at this course? Yes, nine times! From Peter Thomson’s win in 1954 to Mark O’Meara’s in 1998, they have all played and won their honors here.

This esteemed club is located in the North West of England, on the same stretch of coastline as Royal Liverpool and Royal Lytham St Annes, both also Open Championship venues.

Local hotel accommodation would be all taken up but just in case you are visiting some other time, consider staying in Southport.

If you are wondering when does the championship start. The schedule is 6:30 AM on the dot, 17 July - They would be teeing off.
