Watch out MMA champs, there is a new kid on the block. But its not just your average blue eyed fresh behind the ears kind of a newbie vying for the MMA top spot but somebody with a kick a$$ resume.
Ex NFL Pro Bowl running back Herschel Walker, he also won the Heisman trophy, wants to try out his luck with MMA now. The news was just released by MMA promoter Strikeforce.
Personally, I can’t sit through this game and its amazing to be that somebody could pay for this kind of all out paddling of two contestants but apparently these things are big.
Herschel Walker Stats
Besides boasting a top notch resume from NFL, Herschel Walker also owns a fifth degree black belt in Taekwondo. Herschel Walker is 47 years old and to get back into shape he will join a 12 week training camp in California soon.
When asked what was he thinking when he signed up with MMA, this is what Herschel Walker remarked:
I want to prove to people who sit on a couch and don’t do anything but criticize other people that, if you’re a true athlete or martial artist, you’re not old until you can’t get up and walk around anymore.
I would play college football games on Saturday and then compete in martial arts tournaments on Sunday after church I’m now looking forward to opening up another chapter in my life and to competing in MMA.
Herschel Walker is definitely not doing it for money, unless he is really right for money from some failed venture or alimony etc., because NFL pays a very generous pension to retired Pro Footballers.
But some guys are born jocks, and nothing can keep them away.
